The kimster just might improve if MS is setting the pace.

To play the other side of the coin, Massa was the one scoring points these past few races (until this last one of course) while Kimi was, well, being the Kimi of 04 all over again.

Time will tell, but this upcoming race will be anything short of exciting.

As I foresaw, Schumacher has wisely renounced. Massa's place will be taken by test driver Luca Badoer.

Well, they were already losing the title this year. And next year, they will have Fernando Alonso.

I would love to be able to due a few laps at the Nurburgring.
Back to F1... No comments on Ruben's win? Plus the number 2 & 3 cars looked familar.

I am glad he won. He lived many years in Schumi's shadow at Ferrari. Badoer is a disaster. Ferrari is looking at Fisichella or Trulli in place of him.

Spa: 1 Raikkonen, 2 Fisichella on Force India, 3 Vettel. A TV station says that Alonso will drive a Ferrari at Monza, but Briatore denies this. I believe this to be true: a new Ferrari sponsor is Banco Santander.

Yeah, amazing race. At one point Force India was running second and second last. This year's point leader and last year's champion both crashed out before finishing one lap.

I've been hearing rumours for a few days about Fisi driving for Ferrari, maybe before this season is over. That would tend to motivate an Italian ;).

But seriously, all the rules tinkering has really tightened up the field. There was less than one second difference in qualifying times from 1st to 10th, on one of the longest tracks of the season.

I've read they are going to insert a plate in his skull above the eye. Must have been damaged. I don't think he is coming back soon.

There were also reports mid-race that Fisi was pretty much all but Ferrari's property. As impossible as it would be to happen, I'd love to see Fisi and Alonso teamed up again, they made a great combo at Renault.

Massa is said to be able to restart in 2010, Fisi is a likely candidate for Monza. Raikkonen is on the go.

Though I live not far from Monza I watch the Gran Premio on TV. The only Gran Premio I saw from live was Imola in the Eighties and I still remember the roar of the supercharged engines tackling the Rivazza climb. Poor Jacques Villeneuve's last race.

I remember seeing him at Al Cavallino restaurant in Maranello after visiting the Ferrari plant with an engineer from Alluminio Italia, for which I was working. With him Didier Pironi.

Ah man, you should totally go. When I was stationed in Germany, back when the EU gran prix was Nurburg and the German GP was Hockenheim, I went to both. I'd also make the trip up to Spa and once made the trip to Monaco. I also attended the WRC event in Trier.

Traffic jams around Monza can be awful. This year, with an Italian driver on a Ferrari, they probably will be worse than ever. Also, the racetrack lies within the Park of the Royal Villa, and after the race it looks like a trash dump. So I prefer not to increase its entropy and see the race from my living room, near my fridge. I might even uncork a bottle of Schioppettino if Fisi wins and a bottle of German beer if Kimi wins. Cheers.
