Henry Surtees died now, despite all technology. Alonso's wheel today could have caused a similar accident. Technology has its limits, as the recent Airbus disappearing in South Atlantic has shown. And Boeing is delaying the first flight of the 787 Dreamliner because of weaknesses in the carbon fiber body. The first Comet airplanes exploded in air because the rectangular windows frames put too much stress on the corners during climbs to height. I still believe in miracles, but you must not expect them to happen always.

In formula 2 they dont use the technology available.
Nothing to compare with.

It's a miracle he is alive.

Indeed so. In spite of all the enhancements to driver safety, since Ayrton Senna's untimely death, there are still the inherent risks involved - another recent example being, Henry Surtees, the son of John Surtees, who sadly died, in a Formula 2 race. It makes a mockery of the agonising antics, displayed by 'soccer players'!

RIP Senna =(

That was the first thing I thought of when Massa hit the wall. I remember, as a kid, watching Senna take the top podium in 90 and 91 when he raced in my hometown of Phoenix. We were robbed of a great talent with his death.

I wish Alonso could take the Massa place in Valencia. But Briatore will not allow it.

Michael has decided to return.
In a statement he said: "Though it is true that the Formula One chapter has long been closed for me, it is also true that for team loyalty reasons I cannot ignore that unfortunate situation."
I never thought he would do it, but he is.

Sound like a Lance Armstrong decision, but he might find a Contador too, that is a younger driver.

He still has three weeks to improve the neck muscles.
But he never was really out of the buisness.

But it's a new car. I don't remember reading anything about him testing in it. Plus remember there is no testing allowed. So his first drive will be the 1st test session before the next race. That 21 days 10 hours 13 mins and 58 secs.

He also has no experience with the KERS, so we'll see how this plays in.

I´m sure he dont need more than 10 rounds.

Do you risk a bet?

It gives the other teams, plenty of time to purchase and fit, 'armour' to their cars, if nothing else - we've all seen how Schumacher has, too often, 'won' races!

While Schumi's skills were sharp a few years ago, even if they have not dulled, he is still at a disadvantage due to Ferrari's inconsistent cars. Massa looked like he was just about getting a handle on the car and still couldn't place many points on the board. The diffusers are a killer this year (Brawn has shown how powerful they can be), along with the erratic KERS.

Schumacher made 35 rounds with the 2007 car yesterday.
But without any officials involved cause testing rules.
He also had to use GP2 tires, but he had a good feeling with the car.

Ferrari also asked the FIA for a special training for him with the new car.

Norbet Haug chief of Mercedes stated he dont see a reason why he shouldn´t be competitive.

In first place to Schumi.
And of course Ferrari for the team championship.

The drivers point would go to MS. Could you image the ruckus if he wins the championship with so few races left. I'm not saying he will, but that would be a real testiment to his driving.

In theory its possible.
Button has 70 points with 7 races left he only need one point.

On the other hand if Schumi can win some races would be great enough i think.
Ecclestone said yesterday he is sure he will win more than one race.

Now its on Raikönen.
