rMuD: There's something strange going on with your i7 965 rig. I just had a look at your details for that system and your measured speeds are way off for what they should be. Measured floating point speed 1459.27 million ops/sec Measured integer speed 4853.55 million ops/sec My 920 scores higher than that stock. Just a friendly heads-up. Get a copy of CPU-Z and see if it's running at it's rated speed. Rob |

Yep, It did the test when I think I was watching video, it usually is 1500 fps and 9-10k Integer speed I'm doing about 12,000 WU per day with the i7's 1620 credits in 20h x 8 cores 10-14m on the 56 credit Cuda blocks rMuD: |

If both the computers processing the WU are running CUDA, does that mean you both get the "Bonus" credit? |

Yes, I've seen that happen. (BTW, my pending is increasing too; now up to 40,000. I suspect people are leaving the project as the recession cuts into their electricity bill.) |

I move not amongst such exalted pending circles. If I get to 2,000 pending I usually reckon that a lot. At present I am just under 6,000. That does include two AP units (one of which is waiting for a reliable wingman and one that is going to bounce from a bad one). But that still leaves way more than I usually have. I am not blaming anything obvious at Berkeley but I suspect that quite a lot of crunchers have departed forever, going by an examination of some of my longer lasting units. There seem to be many more units being returned these days. Am I right? |

I'm waiting for a couple of three APs to time out too. One of my wingmen got a total of 9 WUs on his first go around. 7 of them are MBs but the powers that be decided to start him with two APs. Looks like he took one look at them and ran for the hills. Another only had 2 but they were both APs. His first one errored out and of course I'm his second one. It doesn't look like he stayed for this one either. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

I'm waiting for a couple of three. . . Is that a baker's couple? :) Just teasing. |

Something like that. :) I didn't mention the third one because I don't know what he is doing. He got two APs on the 25th and hasn't done anything since. I won't know until the 25th of this month if he is alive or not. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

I don't mind a couple of three - run for the hills if Seven of Nine turns up! Glad to know I'm in the same boat as others. I really do think that people starting up with S@H need more of a guide as to what to do and what to expect. The latter especially because it is no good people running the moment they get a great long task to do and then don't seem to get credit for it. Us old timers know we have to wait for these things but new folks don't know what to expect. "Come crunch for Seti" and download a screensaver is far from the end. I know this is more than covered in other threads but this business of rising levels of pending credit is a problem for all of us, especially when it also means we lose people almost as fast (faster) as we get them signed up. Better early education and introductory advice may help, is all I'm saying. |
