Pendings 54,702.68 RAC 12842.05 Ratio 4.25 Not that much credit in the bank anymore, but most of that is the effect of a large cache. Some people will complain that large cache = slow turnaround, but in manufacturing view, downtime of an expensive machine is more expensive than keeping more WIP (as long as it is progressing in a nice steady stream) |

42 378 : 3502 12 : 1 Getting better. Still not the 2-3 : 1 I used to have when I crunched only MB. Still good, tho. :) Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas. Albert Einstein |

42 378 : 3502 I had about the same ratio when I crunched MB only status now: Pending: 102,004.39 (about the same) RAC: 10,224.71 (yay, 10k+ ;) With about the same amount pending, ratio has got better to 10: 1 I have done some calculations, and I expect that my pending is about stable now, and my RAC will increase to about 13.5k, resulting in a ratio of about 7.5 :1 (AP-optimized-only!) If that would be "about average" (and assuming you are "AP-optimized-only"), then your RAC should get to a 5.6k ;) (and Rob's should go to a staggering 340k!) 42 378 : 3502 Hmmm. When I first started Q-Baby last October, I crunched MB-optmized for a month and leveled off at a RAC of 6.8k. I am not really a credit whore (well, maybe a little bit) but maybe I ought to opt out of AP. Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas. Albert Einstein |

42 378 : 3502 If you are doing AP optimised only and using all 4 cores then your RAC will rise to over 9k. My Q6600 with resource share on seti of 75% has RAC of 8k, but I think that might be a little high. My calculation says it should stabalise at ~7k2. |

....I am not really a credit whore (well, maybe a little bit) but maybe I ought to opt out of AP. Opt out? Why, because it would be "credit whoring"? I think it is more a complement to the AP-optimized-builders.. they have created such a great piece of optimized software that it is getting (very) good credits.. Optimized apps don't cheat, they simply do the work faster.. and the last time I checked being efficient is a good thing ;) (sorry for going OT) The SETI@Home Gauntlet 2012 april 16 - 30| info / chat | STATS |

I have a Q6600 running 2 cores on CPDN and 2 on AP right now, it's showing 5134 RAC for Seti at the moment... It's at 3.1GHz, though, not sure what you guys are running yours at. On all 4 cores, I'd say over 9K is definitely possible, though it taks a LONG time of running AP to get the credit granted vs. credit added to pending to level off. On my systems overall, I'm running at around 302K pending for around 31K RAC, so that's around 9.75:1 - for a dedicated AP cruncher at less than about a 7 or 8 to 1 ratio, I'd say there's still some balancing that needs to happen, unless the system is really slow... which Q6600 systems running optimized are not, even at stock speed. -Dave |

39678 : 4137 9.5 : 1 Coming down nicely now. I think my rac should settle in at around 8100 (14 - 15 hrs / wu, approx 1250 credit each), but it likely won’t get that high. I shut down for a few hours yesterday and today for maintenance and will be doing the PG challenge for 2 days next week. Then, beginning the first of May and for the summer, I am only crunching at night when it is cooler. (Darn things really heats up my apartment, but not in a good way!) Pending 94,286.14 I came back for a visit to help out my team mates. My RAC tends to suckle, currently 7005.56, but it is still slowly climbing up. When I get my fill of SAH and leave once again at least there will be a chunk in the bank. :-) UncleVom |

My Pendings are only 2,230.09 but I generally only run S@H from Midnight to 9 or 10am... |

A high RAC ratio is money in the bank for the rainy days. Keep with AP, it is like investing in Bonds - which give higher yield than cash savings account even though it takes longer to mature. Shut down my main cruncher for the last 2 days to stay within energy budget, yet RAC maintained to some extend by the pending conversions. Pending 51,445.23 RAC 11,265.51 Ratio 4.566613496 |
