It's just my luck or is something wrong with the validating server? I see all my new results "pending", even with 2 results posted (even with equal claims). Just Sunday blues? |

Server status page doesn't show anything wrong but that doesn't mean much. I also see a lot of results awaiting validation on there. My guess is the server is just having trouble keeping up again. If it hasn't cleared by the time the crew wakes up at Berkeley they will give it a kick and get things flowing again. It doesn't look like there is anything wrong on your end so just be patient, it will happen. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Same thing's happened for the last few weekends as the pipes get clogged towards the end of the weekend. Should sort itself out after the steel toecaps have been applied. F. |

RAC is falling slightly. Kind of a concern as one machine is running CUDA and throwing jobs like mad. Then I look at the pending list. Wow! Prior to firing up CUDA this would be in the 7000-8000 range. It's now over 21,000 and climbing! Oh, is the RAC going to climb with things finally settle out. :-) |

Mine was over 20k last week, and for the past 4-5 days has been below 10. Had a nice RAC spike going from 20 to <10 though. see here.. Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

Right now the servers link shows over 4 million "Results returned and awaiting validation". That's some work to catch up! |

Right now the servers link shows over 4 million "Results returned and awaiting validation". That's some work to catch up! That's the "Waiting for wingmen" line. The key one is the one below - "Workunits waiting for validation 345,996 " which is normally less than 100 when everything is running smoothly. F. |

Matt posted and I asked him what was up. His reply... Standard issue stuff: lack of resources on the upload server (bruno). Being that's where the results are directly stored, this is where the validators and file deleters run as well - the assimilators run elsewhere but also consume disk i/o resources reading files from bruno. So once any of these processes falls behind, it eats up resources on bruno trying to catch up, which in turn slows everything down. In any case, it's all working, albeit slowly. It should push through faster after the weekly mysql "compression" tomorrow. - Matt PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

I hope it catches up soon. My RAC has dropped almost 1,500 points in last 24 hours and Pending has risen over 124K in the same period :( |

I think the most important thing is that we have WU's to crunch right now and the least important thing is the validation of the work. Eventually they will get credited. http://www.novascotia.com |

That's a good exemple of short-sighteness. The fact that SOMETHING is wrong with some of the servers can have a spillover effect to the others. And to the project as such. Sometimes you don't have to wait till something really wrong happens, it's called preventative maintenance. |

yep, I have about 248k pending but it is good that all of my systems are crunching with work. |

I am sorry if you took that post as being short-sighted but all I was saying was that p**p happens. You have been around as long as I have...and you and I have seen the ups and downs in this project. Unfortunately when you have a project that is on a shoestring budget there will be blips from time to time. I think Eric and Matt are doing one heck of a job and should be commended. Also considering what they have to work with we just have to be patient and allow them to do their jobs . http://www.novascotia.com |

Asa you saw, everything eventually crushed last night... Some of the servers are up now, but are over 500k units waiting on the server now. |
