How to use the 3d screensaver?

So i have an Nvida 9600m GS and downloaded and am running under the BOINC tasks the CUDA version of Seti....How do i start up the visuals for this??? |

You don't. The CUDA version does not have a screen saver as of yet, because the problem is that you're using the GPU to do the calculations. A screen saver would also use that GPU, slowing things down enormously. |

Makes Sense. So just disable the "use GPU' option to view the visuals? |

I suppose you could, though it would most likely slow down your unit processing time. I find that having the GPU enabled allows me to take a work unit that would normally take 8 hours and process it in just under 2 hours. So at least for me, and I'd suspect for the rest of CUDA users, enabling the GPU = faster processing of work units. I run BOINC with 100% of my resources at night when my monitor is shut down, so visuals don't mean a thing to me. They're pretty, yeah, but I'd rather process data faster than have something nice on my screen while I'm sleeping. |
