Latest GPU-Z calculates current, at least for the gtx280. I am showing 27 amps for seti -vs- 34 amps for gpugrid It varies significantly depending on Angle Range (at least, I assume the power will vary as the GPU temp certainly does). VLAR tasks heat the GPU *much* less than other tasks - and the real "shorties" (the VHARs) can increase the temps by as much as 8 deg C compared to the VLARs on my box (GTX 295 - only half used because of x64 (sob)). I'm not surprised. I signed up for GPUGrid just to keep my GPU busy while Seti has work issues, and the first thing I noticed is that my system performance chugs far more than running Seti. I think GPUGrid uses more of the card. Unfortunately this means I won't be able to run GPUGrid while I want to use the computer, since it makes simple things such as surfing the web annoyingly slow. You will be assimilated...bunghole! ![]() |

I think the problem is that GPUGrid uses more of the *CPU* rather than of the card. F. ![]() |

Not according to BoincView. It shows using the same amount of CPU as Seti. You will be assimilated...bunghole! ![]() |
