for the last few days the amount of AP units distributed is practically zero

all the AP splitters are offline according to server stats

Matt mentioned in his technical news that sidious is having problems but what about Lando and Bambi (the AP splitters)

so my poor 8-core is sitting there doing nowt ;-)

So whats the story ?

regards

From what I can see on the status page it looks like AP units for the tapes currently in the queue have all been split and sent out, MB units are still being split and sent out.

Th AP Validator has also been 'not running' for nearly a day now and there are over 12,000 workunits waiting for validation including a few of mine!

I think they are working on it. I checked the server status about 2 hours ago and the validator was up. It didn't stay that way long though.

I'm not concerned with the validater at all. It eventually will get validated and credited. It doesn't matter if it's in a few days or a few months, I know I'll eventually get the credit.

However, it's the splitter that's of concern to me.

My Quad core CUDA rig is just crunching CUDA right now and 1 single AP WU. In a few hours, that unit will be done and I'll have 4 idle cores and 1 CUDA unit crunching only. Not as bad as that 8 core idle unit in the first post. Not crunching is worse than just delayed validation.

That's why I keep one core warm with CPDN most of the time. One download from there can keep any machine crunching away happily for over 2 months.

With the new cuda mod. you can crunch mbs on both cpu and gpu, it would be nice to have some aps, but not necessary to keep crunchen.

With the new mod, unfortunately there becomes a situation temporary where GPU is not utilised I was crunching 3 MB with v8 and two AP so untill first task complete no cuda app running. I have deselected AP from those hosts in preferences and finishing the units 2 at a time manually. I will run r103 on my cpu hosts eventually or maybe the next release. For now I want to keep seti main credits just the CUDA hosts till rac stabalizes.
