Another view of the AUDI CALAMARO CONCEPT

It has no wheels and therefore is more like an airplane and so It would never be used on US roadways and so who'd buy It? No one.

Sure, the required 4 to 8 hour charge will only take you on a sucktastic 30 mile drive (though it tops a decent 70mph), but that should be plenty for anyone that uses their vehicle simply to commute.

We suspect that if you’re willing to go through with plopping down a cool $25,000 for this one-seater, you’re also likely to turn a blind eye (and ear) to the stares and stifled giggles from your bemused co-workers.

No, it is not sufficient. My commute is 60 miles / day. There is no charging station near the office.

The auto makers are aiming at the wrong audience with Electric Vehicles. Those with longer commutes feel higher gasoline prices more acutely than those with short commutes. I also have 1 or 2 more people in the car every day for at least part of the commute. Single seaters don't cut it, two seaters don't either.

My commute is about 55 miles per day, but I use public transit (bus and train).

I really would not want to take my chances on the freeways in such a tiny vehicle unless all the other vehicles are of a similar size.

On the plus side, it looks like one could be missed entirely by an 18-wheeler truck as it would fit easily under the trailer.
