Running BOINC 6.4.5 I have been trying a dual graphic setup, to use a non-CUDA device (9500 GT) for my display while running SETI on my new NVidia 260. The reason I am trying this setup is that I had noticed significant graphic (UI) slowdowns under Windows at times and I could not bear it for any of my main machines. Under Win2008 or Vista (64-bit) when the system first cold boots I generally get a 'No CUDA devices found' message. A soft reboot normally then corrects the issue. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Install the latest drivers for your card and reboot, after that check your BOINC messages again and you should see: 20-1-2009 20:15:50||CUDA devices found 20-1-2009 20:15:50||Coprocessor: GeForce 8600 GT (1) 20-1-2009 20:15:54|SETI@home|URL: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID: 4248422; location: home; project prefs: default 20-1-2009 20:15:54||General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 16-Jan-2009 For you you'll be seeing your card standing there..:) Kind regards, Mark Peters. If I'm not mistaken the 9500 GT *IS* a cuda card... Make sure you update the drivers from the device manager as nVidia's installer doesn't always update both... (If at all?) Do you Good Search for Seti@Home? http://www.goodsearch.com/?charityid=888957 Or Good Shop? http://www.goodshop.com/?charityid=888957 |

Doh! My bad. The second card the monitor is attached to is a 7300GT. |

I already had the latest NVidia drivers - 181.20. A cold boot showed 'missinng a CUDA coprocessor' still, repeated dozens of times, and a warm boot got it going again and does show my GTX 260, so the problem still exists from a cold boot. This under Vista Business 64-bit. |

I've seen it mentioned elsewhere that there is a bug in bonic recognizing dual adapter set-ups. It might get fixed when Boinc 6.6.x is released. |

I installed the 6.6.4 beta. Problem of not recognizing the 260 still exists on 1/2 of the (re-)starts. I swapped out my OS for Vista 64-bit, thinking that it might be related to the NVidia drives, running the same 6.6.4 beta, with the same 50% result. |

Sorry, correction to above, on Vista 64-bit, the BOINC manager would fail to connect 50% of the time, requiring a reboot to get it going. |
