i acknowledge the effeciency improvement of running grid computing tasks on your graphics card.

but this is not a solution i want on my comp.
however, i want to donate idle cpu time to seti.

my search for a preference to disable receiving gpu tasks or a forum topic that already discusses this was not successful

so, how do i set up seti/boinc to only accept task that are run by the cpu instead of the gpu

I've written down all options to do so in this FAQ.

Oh, that's nothing to hit yourself over the head with. I only advertise it in my signature. You're welcome though. :-)

I would not mind running CUDA, but there is a limit of 35 packages per day and my CUDA ate them up.. All this time and no packets comming in..

Guess I have to disable it.

If you have a limit of 35 per day then you have been having some errors.. For every computation error your limit goes down by 1 everytime you successfully return a result it doubles its current value..
The max limit is 100 wu per core per day...
Just give it a couple days of returning successful results and all will be well...
