Andy-What's your total snowfall so far?

This week, several feet in total.

Which is about 2 and a half feet more than in the last 20 years!

Check out my Website for details of the chaos that ensued - and plenty of snowy pics.

The phone service is back on, but the power has been off more than on today.

We had a good thaw this afternoon, but now the darkness has arrived it has frozen over. Hopefully the thaw will continue tomorrow.

Thanks for the link, Andy. Very enlightening. Nice pictures, beautiful scenes.
Had to laugh while reading the 'snow-ball fight etiquette' article. There's one universal truth; kids will through 'snow projectiles' at moving vehicles. Always have, always will.

Warmed up today. Was nice this afternoon. Face didn't freeze when I went outside.

Stinkin' 'ot!
Got the mulcher back from the mower shop this morning, but could only run it for an hour before I overheated!
Have retreated indoors for several litres of ice water.
The garden is growing wild, and I can do nothing until the heat goes down.
Local footy club's clock/temp display had temp at 48 degs C yesterday. (48 C = 118.4 F)

Yikes...those temps are insane. The hottest I have seen here in my corner of Ca have been 113 F for two weeks. Now a nice cool 16 C in the house. Sorry about the two different temp posts, but I am too tired to convert the first one, the second one I know by heart.

'Unter Valley here, Monday... about 50km inland from Newcastle.
3 o'clock, I went for beer. (No point in doing anything else...even the fish are havin' a siesta!
Outside temp indicator in my car sez: "44 Degs C"
At least the humidity has dropped a bit, so the perspiration evaporates from your skin! Last week was like a sauna, high temps with high humidity.

It's been 115F(about 46C) here two summers ago. :D

Hmmm, let’s see, 115F plus heat from Q-Baby = 1 cooked rabbit. ;o)

Temperature scale conversion, for those who are interested:

Fahrenheit to Celcius

Subtract 32 Divide by 9 and multiply by 5

Thus: for 32 F 32-32/9 * 5 = 0/9 * 5 = 0

and for 212 F 212-32/9 * 5 = 100

In reverse (C to F): divide by 5, multiply by nine and add 32

Thus: for 20C 20/5 * 9 + 32 = 68 F

45C 45/5 * 9 + 32 = 113 F

It is a bit chilly here.....Don't confuse the F with the C here.

F = Fahrenheit
C= Celsius
K = Kelvin

Yay, we have started the day off to sunshine and a little bit of warmth - hopefully enough to clear some of this snow - and at least put the roads here back into a state where they can be driven on. At the moment, with last nights ice I couldn't even walk down them!

Interesting local bit of language usage going on here. The papers and TV are calling our present weather "the latest January thaw in several years". To everybody else it seems to make perfect sense, but I find it a bit amusing.

Tendency: falling
Visibility: 24 km

Temperature: 4.3°C = 39.74 degree Fahrenheit = 499.41 degree Rankine
