Well as long as You don't get buried by an ICE Sheet, It should pass, So keep warm and Dry until spring Andy. :D

Pah! I wish it were like that. I have to go to London tonight (~170 miles by road) for a meeting first thing in the morning, then drive home tomorrow afternoon. The forecast as it stands, means I might get stuck on the wrong side of the country tomorrow, so I am going to pack some extra clothes in case. I really need to get home tomorrow though, so hoping the forecast is OTT (& wrong!) - Snow really doesn't happen here very often so we're just not geared up to cope with it when it does fall.

Very raw in the wind here today. Close to freezing with 20MPH+ winds isn't too pleasant.

It is rather cold here, in South Essex; around 2 C but it feels much less than that, with a 20 mph ENE wind straight off the Thames Estuary/English Channel. If you are coming this way, Andy, packing that extra clothing will be a good idea - might also be an idea to have a couple of flasks of boiling water with you, as well, keeping the coffee/tea, sugar and milk, seperate. The forecast for later this afternoon, is looking pretty bleak, with 2" - 4" drifting snow being predicted tonight and a low of -2. That'll make my trip to work, tomorrow, a little less boring! I expect the usual assortment of idiots in their BMWs, will still be 'cutting people up' and 'tail-gating'.

I am in North London now. Drove through lots of snow showers and the temp here is 0C. I put some food & drink in the car - and extra clothes, but I have no intention of stopping here longer than I have to! Meeting finishes at 1:00pm tomorrow so hoping to be out of here before the main band of snow hits tomorrow afternoon - and I'll be driving away from it, so as long as I get out in time I will be able to stay ahead ofr it. Best laid plans though...

Snow is still coming down thick & fast here in North London.

There are no bus services in London, trains cancelled & flights delayed. Oh dear, we don't cope well in this Country, do we?!

I made a decision in the early hours to abandon the meeting I was in London for and make my way home. It took me 6 hours to drive 170 miles. I was scooping snow up with the front of my car on the motorway!

On the News now they are showing how London has come to a standstill. A foot of overnight snow has crippled the roads & tube network. There are no busses, no trains and limited road routes due to the continuing snowfall. The roads I used to get home last night are now blocked - good decision me thinks!

Here in W-s-M it is sub zero and light snow has started falling - It doesn't snow here, so first snow in many many years.

Amazingly it's STILL snowing, both in the SE of the country where they have now had their heaviest snowfall in nearly 20 years and here in the West Country, where snow is rare indeed.

Bernie and Andy,

I've seen on T.V., here in the States, what your weather's been like over there.

Here in Pennsylvania, we see that all the time. Great pictures Bernie. Would you guys like to see snow like that every winter? If I didn't know, I'd say those pictures were taken where I live.
