Message 855180 - Posted: 18 Jan 2009, 21:01:10 UTC - in response to Message 855062.

I understand, it is the same for me, although I have only 20,000 in pending...Can someone comfirm that this issue is server based and not my client that is wrong. I ask as it started on my machines, when I upgraded to the latest version (Enhanced 6.03), but both my seti and astropulse workunits are back logging into the pending...

The problem is this..

ap_validate____bruno_____Disabled

With the validater disabled, it will not confirm that both units match and grant credit.

I dont't think it is doing it with the MB WU's. I think since the AP went down quite a few people have swapped to doing the MB's to keep their RACs higher. Just a hunch.

I have noticed on the server stats page, http://bluenorthernsoftware.com/scarecrow/sahstats/graphs.php , that the S@H Results waiting for validation is upto about 1.9 million? Wow that's going to be one heck of a backlog to go through! If you can tell their are little dips here and there in it, but it seems that those would normally be the valley's in the spikes, but we have the continual adding of AP's in there too so we are flat lining haha.

Either way just keep crunching, you will be validated sooner or later which will result in a rather good spike in RAC. Mine has fallen so far from 2200-800 in the last couple of days. I think I've went from about 1500-2300 unvalidated to a bit over 14,000 in the last couple of days! Should be nice, but I don't expect it to be validating any sooner than tuesday.

validation doesn't take too long (when it's up), you're still
waiting for your partner to complete.

I'm having a similar problem, but my Pending Credit is MUCH bigger...

Currently I have a Pending credit of 185,912.62 including such gems as...

Task ID 1064882357
Name ap_03no08ad_B4_P1_00312_20081120_26561.wu_2
Workunit 368292806
Created 20 Nov 2008 19:08:11 UTC
Sent 20 Nov 2008 19:08:15 UTC
Received 26 Nov 2008 4:09:51 UTC
Server state Over
Outcome Success
Client state Done
Exit status 0 (0x0)
Computer ID 4655472
Report deadline 20 Dec 2008 19:08:15 UTC
CPU time 168696.4

So, this WU has been waiting for almost two months for validation... How long does the validation take? Is this normal?

I have at least two WU's which should have validated, in that both have all three results returned, but they are still sitting in my pending list.
Meanwhile, a pending list that never used to quite reach 1,000 has exploded to over 6,000 since AP was introduced.

Much of this seems to be caused by impatient crunchers aborting long AP WU's. I suspect the impact on RAC is deterring some people from crunching AP.

Don't feel too bad, I have 15 AP units that have met the minimum quorum and are pending validation. One goes all the way back to the 10th. :)

Thats nothing, I have a pending AP dating 21. Nov 2008.

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=366630612

My result is the one marked as succes.
From the looks of it I could be in for a long wait again before it validates.

I don't have any AP WU's pending. I now have 5X the pending credit that I normally have. I see a few things happening. A new folks bailing on the work. CUDA giving crap results. and I have 1 PC that decided it wanted to keep no more than 4 WU's onboard leading to very fast TAT.

Since my last post, my pending credit has dropped by over 1,000

However, over 2200 creds in the form of AP have been validated, which indicates to me that AP is not the only problem.

Well, there are 257,683 MB workunits waiting for validation just now, according to the Server status page. The validators have been, if not exactly stuck, running very slow all weekend. Expect the pending totals to start dropping quickly in about eight hours' time, when the staff get into the lab - I imagine they'll want to start getting stuff shifted off their storage disks pronto, it must be getting very full in there after all the weekend goings-on.
