The download tubes will be clogged, but the uploads should be fine.

Afraid not.
All that downloading means there's plenty of uploads in the way of acknowledgements etc.
Just noticed my uploads were no longer working, checked the network graphs & the download flood has begun. Given the length of the outage, and the large amount of short work lately, i expect it'll be at least 6 hours before i can upload or download.

Thanks to whoever went in a got things going again.

Yes....thank you to whoever the dude with the chrome plated boots was......I think we should all chip in and get the Seti staff a pair of chrome (or maybe gold) plated steel toes for all their after hours efforts......

I, for one, truly appreciate it.....

It'll be many hours before things settle down.......so much work...so little bandwidth...

Did you notice that the server crashed at about 3pm Berkeley time on New Years Eve ? Probably just as the boys were bolting out the door for an early start to the party.

The last man out must have slammed the door too hard :-)

I hardly ever post here and am just getting back started in Seti@Home. Last time I really ran this thing strong was well before Seti@Home went to Boinc. Either ay glad the dam has broken I was just getting started really good and everything stopped. Over this time though I have found the spot to give myself a buffered cache of work units so next time this happens I can hold out!

Good job guys, Rampage and Lappy are back in action!

At least the forums were still up so we could confer about it....

That's a + in my book....

Oh I didn't miss it. I've been a lurker here for years on and off. I got the time to do some internet surfing, figured out how to install an optimized set of applications and how to setup a cache of work in case this happens again. I also got to do a bit of research on setting up my upcoming farm. So I would give an A+ to the forums being up and a C- because now I'm looking at spending some cash on this fever@seti I got going now!!

Well looks like the dam has broken for me for sure. I started downloading work units again and it looks like all Astropulse with a hand full of MB. Wooohooo!

NC can't solve the problems I'm having, But It's not a Seti problem, So I won't say more on this.

One of my rigs managed to report some wu's now, although a good 500 and odd of them are still waiting in queue.
BTW, Panic Mode thread #11 needs to be locked, I recently noticed a new entry in it.

Server was working from 6:04 to 7:40 CET, after that it got silent again, about 4 machines reported tasks and got new ones. Looks like network trouble to me.

Eventually it does still send some out, though uploads seem to have died.
I've been waitng for a few days to get a connection with the server on one of my pc's, and it just hit right now. Some more CUDA and an AP...My other pc's managed to pick up enough MB to get by for a while and the dual core even got another AP too. They're out there, it's just like pulling teeth to get them.
Once you do, downloads are pretty slow if they even connect,.

Edit: Last one finally downloaded and all are now ready to start. It takes a while but it does get done.

Look HERE

Traffic is maxed out, after a 36 hour outage it's not surprising!

Only if they bring a gigabit hill-climbing pipe with them - nothing the staff can do about maxxed-out bandwidth.

That hour is up by now, and my machines are full of "Downloadings" which really arent downloading, just waiting to do so. One machine's cache of work is practially gone so it will shortly be doing Einstein. The other computer has a few hours work left. Right now it's 9:49 AM Berkeley time.
