Maybe, as I did manually download it. However I got a skipping download message and did download the rest of the 6.06 stuff (readme, copyright, etc). This leads me to believe it would have downloaded anyhow.

12/31/2008 8:09:53 AM|SETI@home|File setiathome_6.06_windows_intelx86__cuda.exe exists already, skipping download
12/31/2008 8:09:53 AM|SETI@home|Started download of setiathome-6.06_cuda_AUTHORS
12/31/2008 8:09:53 AM|SETI@home|Started download of setiathome-6.06_cuda_COPYING
Etc.
I will let the work run out and see what happens. Unless this is a glitch that people are just not noticing.

Ok set to "No New Tasks" and finally ran out of work. Reset to "Allow New Tasks".
click on Update and

1/6/2009 8:12:09 PM|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 367200 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
1/6/2009 8:12:14 PM|SETI@home|Scheduler request completed: got 20 new tasks
1/6/2009 8:12:16 PM|SETI@home|Started download of setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe
etc.

20 new tasks and they are all marked 6.03. I even made sure that they are being processed by 6.03 in task manager. It doesn't use 6.06 and always downloads 6.03 again.
I really got this thread off of the cuda topic, sorry.

OK, I'm stumped. You have BOINC 6.4.5 installed, which supports CUDA. BOINC detects your card as being CUDA capable. Everything is set to use CUDA.

After checking you've got the gpu settings set to yes in your SETI@home preferences, if that doesn't turn out to be the problem, you might consider using the Modified SETI MB CUDA + opt AP package for full GPU utilization which is also supposed to be able to do the 6.03 tasks with the CUDA app. You would also have to update the exe of the CUDA app which you can find in this message

Just out of curiousity have you checked with something like CUDA-Z to make sure you've got Compute Capability 1.1 and not 1.0? Even if it is 1.0 the modified app could still work, at least it has for some others.

Edit just in case you are not familiar with installing the app
You would need to completely shut down Boinc and verify it's shut down in Windows Task Manager before you put the app info file and the other files associated with it in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu

The Application Data folder is a hidden folder you would have to un-hide from Folder Options located in the Windows Control Panel.

You'll also need this info on the cc_config.xml file to be able to run AP on the cpu(or another project) and MB on the gpu using all the cores at the same time.

Message 850424 - Posted: 7 Jan 2009, 10:00:56 UTC

The problem with the CUDA program, SETI@home and the EVGA Graphic cards has reached the point where I'm pretty darn well fed up with trying to get answers from the makers of the Graphic Cards. Today I have written to their Tech Support Department as follows:
I continue to have problems with the NVLDDMKM display driver on all six of my computers. This is my third letter on this problem and like anyone else in the world, I dislike being ignored. Whether it is a complete shut down or a snow storm on the screen, the problem persists on a daily basis.
If you don't want my repeat business, you could not have found a better way to tell me. There are other people out here making graphic cards. Once again, the problem seems to be with the capacitors you are using, the F277 1500 6.3V and the F777 470 .16V capacitors rupture out the top at the score that looks like a "K". It's hard to read the above information because of the ruptured tops and I may have the voltage wrong on the F777 capacitor.
The problems seem to have become more profound since the introduction of your CUDA program started working with SETI@home.
This has been a persistent problem with your product since I started using your 7600 series Graphic Cards, now I continue to have the same problem with your 9600 card series. To ignore me will not make this problem go away, nor does it help to pass the problem on to someone else to ignore. I have invested a lot of money in your product and they fail within a year. Not a good record to base further purchases on.

I understand you're having problems with your cards failing, but maybe you could post your own thread about it, instead of posting in threads where it has nothing to do with what is being said. I've noticed a consistant theme to your messages in other threads about the problmes you've had, and rarely does it pertain to the problems the others are having, or seem to contribute any useable info to solve the CUDA problems we're facing.

The way you're doing it now seems more like a scare tactic against nVidia, which I'm sure is not your intent. Posting a thread regarding failed components on the nVidia cards seems like a better way to track if anyone else is having the same experience.

Also I noticed the topic regarding NVLDDMKM from an earlier thread which pointed to here as a possible solution for the problem with the file not being written over when a new driver is installed.

It was the latest modified CUDA + AP app as of the time posted which included having the exe updated already. Today though there is a more current version in this message but once again it's at lunatics. I've now got that app package uploaded and can be gotten by clicking the same link in my earlier post.

The app info file and files that go along with it are supposed to go in the Data folder of Seti which depening on your system could be

for XP C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu

for Vista C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu

You can also verify the Data folder by looking at the message log in Boinc Manager when you first start it up.

If you need help installing the app, feel free to ask here or in pm.

Ok, installed the 180.20 drivers. Set to "No New Tasks". Ran out work and detached. Reattached. Over night it grabbed 80+ cuda wu's. As of right now, WCG is on hold and I am processing 2 MB's (6.03)in high priority and 1 cuda. This is with a standard, non-opped app. The cuda seems slower then before but it is working without errors(so far). Card temps are fine (48c/118f). The string of wu's are all the same basic numbers with some different ones coming up. In actual time it appears that it takes about 1.5hrs to run.

1/11/2009 6:04:16 AM|SETI@home|Starting task 06no08ab.24300.175136.15.8.184_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 606
1/11/2009 7:31:29 AM|SETI@home|Computation for task 06no08ab.24300.175136.15.8.184_1 finished

This is while the computer is in use also. So far no problems and even the screen saver (Seti MB) works ok.
