Tuesday Night: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. Southwest wind between 4 and 7 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Special weather statement:
THE VERY LOW SNOW LEVELS ON WEDNESDAY WILL BRING THE THREAT OF SNOW SHOWERS... WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR SNOW LEVELS FALLING LOCALLY TO 1500 FEET ON WEDNESDAY...THERE IS EVEN THE POSSIBILITY OF BRIEF SNOW SHOWERS IN THE FOOTHILLS OF THE LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTY VALLEYS... AS WELL AS THE SANTA MONICA MOUNTAINS.

Just may get to see what snow looks like on a palm tree! :) In case you wonder I don't know the last time it snowed in Los Angeles. Sunny Southern California indeed.

Depends on where in L.A. you're talking about.

Snow in the mountains surrounding the L.A. Basin isn't at all uncommon, and we've certainly got some right now. Many of those are near 5,000 feet, and if the snow level gets down to 1,500 there could be snow on Mt. Lee -- just above the "Hollywood" sign.

Just came out of a -30C weekend. Not bad with calm winds.
Yesterday was -24 with a windchill making it feel like -38 to -40C.
Today is a balmy -13C.

Neither am I, But It is pretty while It lasts and We need the snow pack for the ground water for summer and drinking use, The more the better.

It normally doesn't last too long here either, but that is the second of three storms to roll thru this week. Tomorrow afternoon the big one is supposed to hit us.

In Vancouver today:

-2°C, cloud, visibility 5+ km, winds out of the ENE at about 4 knots, seas running at about 1 meter. All of which doesn’t sound so bad. . .unless you spent an hour chipping ice off of the stanchions and lines. Burrrr!

[edit] Oh, yeah, presently the barometer reads 1020 mb and falling, so tomorrow might be fun. (irony implied, of course) :o)

A damp 3C here in SW England. It's nice to get a respite from the frost - my Palm trees will certainly be glad of the break!

We've seen more frost here this Winter than any time in the last decade. November was the coldest for 12 years and the first 2 weeks of December the coldest for 25 years. Global warming, eh?

Last November in Italy was the warmest ever. Now we have rain and abundant snow in the mountains. Climate and weather are different.
