If I knew how to compile anything I would. I just did some editing on the app_info to combine the AK_V8 and the AP files to make it easy to install.

Very handy and you have most of the popular platforms covered. Found packages for my Mac Mini core duo, iMac Core2 duo and of course the new Core i7.

UPDATE: Hmme, the extractor for Win 64 versions appears to be 32 bit and won't run on my 64bit.

Thanks.

I have installed the combined package on my Linux box and things seem to work. Perhaps it would be better to tell people to flush their queue before installing it because a SETI WU which had started with app 5.28 was lost and my wingman shall have to wait until January when a new wingman will crunch it. Now I have an optimized AP app based on 5.0. I am still waiting to see what happens to the 2 WUs I crunched with optimized 4.36. A third and fourth wingmen are still working on them. But thanks.

How about this one

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z462-x64.msi

That should be a 64-bit version of 7-zip

Thanks. I had found the same thing via Google, but appreciate your effort. Was able to extract them successfully.

Excellent stuff.

Minor debug needed for:

LX64_AKV8_AP5_SSE3.tbz Linux 64-bit SSE3 version for Intel/AMD

The original app_info file was:

<app_info>
<app>
<name>setiathome_enhanced</name>
</app>
<file_info>
<name>AK_V8_linux64_sse3</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<app_version>
<app_name>setiathome_enhanced</app_name>
<version_num>603</version_num>
<file_ref>
<file_name>AK_V8_linux64_sse3</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
</app_version>
<app>
<name>astropulse</name>
</app>
<file_info>
<name>astropulse_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnuu</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<file_info>
<name>ap_graphics_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<app_version>
<app_name>astropulse</app_name>
<version_num>500</version_num>
<file_ref>
<file_name>astropulse_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
<file_ref>
<file_name>ap_graphics_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</file_name>
<open_name>graphics_app</open_name>
</file_ref>
</app_version>
<app_info>

Note the presumably anomalous extra "u" in "<name>astropulse_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnuu</name>".

Also, elsewhere that app_info gives the error:

file projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/ap_graphics_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu not found
[error] No URL for file transfer of ap_graphics_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu

...and then repeated:

[SETI@home] Backing off 1 min 0 sec on download of ap_graphics_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu

Instead, trying:

<app_info>
<app>
<name>setiathome_enhanced</name>
</app>
<file_info>
<name>AK_V8_linux64_sse3</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<app_version>
<app_name>setiathome_enhanced</app_name>
<version_num>603</version_num>
<file_ref>
<file_name>AK_V8_linux64_sse3</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
</app_version>
<app>
<name>astropulse</name>
</app>
<file_info>
<name>astropulse_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<app_version>
<app_name>astropulse</app_name>
<version_num>500</version_num>
<file_ref>
<file_name>astropulse_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
</app_version>
<app_info>

Appears to work ok.

Aside: Upon restart, I now get:

[---] [error] No URL for file transfer of ap_graphics_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu
[SETI@home] [error] Can't initialize file transfer for ap_graphics_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu

Is that just a hang-over in the state file? It is still trying ever less frequent retries.

Hope that helps,

Happy crunchin',
Martin

You should be able to download it manually from

You should be able to download it manually from

ap_graphics_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu

Got that no problem. Also did a "chmod +x" on it.

I reinstated the original app_info and edited the gnuu to gnu and restarted boinc:

[SETI@home] Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform
[---] [error] Deleting file ap_graphics_5.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu while in use

Mmmm...?

Other work is being crunched at the moment so will have to wait to see what gets downloaded for s@h.

Thanks for that,

Try one more BOINC restart - I've seen that sometimes when it tries to cleanup client_state.xml

This time you should get a clean restart and a full set of files in the project folder - that's the ideal outcome.

Indeed so, thanks.

Restart again and all clean.

Next is to see what s@h WUs roll in :-)

Where's the best place to pass on the word about correcting the gnuu -> gnu typo?

Cheers,
Martin.

Fixed the problem on my end and re-uploaded to my server. Both 64-bit versions had the problem.

I must have missed highlighting the entire line when I was copying and pasting on that one.

I will tell Gecko as well on lunatics.
