Will it be available on TechNet? Hmm... I should go check. [Edit]I'm not seeing it listed, unless they hold off until tomorrow. |

Reasons to skip Microsofts windows 7 beta download Mostly, this says that the author should never be a beta tester. He doesn't get the process. |

I am just the messenger :o) I know, and I tried to keep my criticism to the message. And I was definitely in the mood to criticise something! |

This probably won't be of much interest, but a 'wingman' on a WU recently done, was running Windows 7 and it seems he is a tester. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=392512387 Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

Yes, optimised apps will be a little thin on the ground for Win 7, or could it run the apps for previous versions of Windows? Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

To be honest, since I installed the opti-app I have typically seen reductions in executed times of over 50% - perhaps the app has found a 'sweet spot' with the MSI P35 Platinum boards in both my Core 2 machines. I certainly never saw this level of time reduction on my P4 Prescotts, understandably. To stay on topic, I'd hope that Win 7 is as stable as an old P200 PC I had, and one that I've revived (with a huge P2/350!). It ran/runs DOS 6, Win 3.1 with the PC Tools for Windows V2 'overlay' and Win 95. Believe it or not, in spite of being, essentially, a triple-boot system, it never crashed once, in 3 years in its original form. Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

Beta Windows code always runs slower because all the debug code is in there. When I beta tested XP, it was 300% slower than the final product because the final was streamlined and the debug code was disabled. |

I haven't had too many crashes with most MS OSes except when I did something stupid, or was using bad drivers. The MS OS that I had the most crashes with was Windows 95, yet I still liked the OS for all its advanced 32bit features as opposed to using Windows 3.1 with Win32s installed. |
