I have read that a WU is sent to 3 different systems and credit is only given when all three return the same result. What happens when a WU is lost. I know this can happen because I was having a hardware problem with one of my systems which would freeze after downloading some WUs. When I restarted the system Boinc would reset the application and download some more WUs, start crunching, freeze, .... It would seem to me that they should send out a given WU to 4 systems and then use the first 3 that come back for credit calculation. If 4 come back fine. But there are bound to be lost WUs due to hardware or software failures. kws |

There is a 2 Week Deadline Date for every WU sent out Ken, if it isn't sent in by that time it will be reissued to somebody else to run, or at least thats the way it is supposed to work anyway... [url=http://www.boinc.dk/index.php?page=user_statistics&userid=13139] |
