In Fedora Core 9, My Boink Manager shows an error connecting but the proxy tabs are Greyed out. It doesnt seem to matter if I'm logged in as root or just my regular account. I have set up proxy settings in the OS. Shouldnt boink be using these?

Help Help.

There is no GNOME/KDE integration with BOINC. Therefore, BOINC Manager will not using GNOME/KDE proxy settings. You'll have to manually set them in BOINC once the BOINC manager is connected to the BOINC daemon.

Did you start the BOINC daemon?
# service boinc-client start

Did you set a GUI RPC password?
# vi /var/lib/boinc/gui_rpc_auth.cfg

In the BOINC Manager (advanced view), goto the Advanced menu -- Select Computer.
Host name: localhost
Password: (whatever you put in the GUI RPC password file)

Then, try to select proxy settings.
