It takes no courage to point out the faults of others. It takes real courage to look at ones self, see the faults, and take action. |

It takes no courage to point out the faults of others. It takes real courage to look at ones self, see the faults, and take action. Well stated. |

It takes no courage to point out the faults of others. Provided you don't mind people pointing out your lack of courage. Oh and provided the others don't get too upset by what you are saying. To put it another way, being in the police must take little courage, as a significant part their job is concerned with pointing out the faults of others. I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |

"Pick a God? Jews, Christians and Muslims all have the same God, there is only one God! Or did you forget that?" There are still civilizations that are polytheistic. BOINC WIKI |

Gary

There are still civilizations that are polytheistic.
Yup, Any Catholic Dominated Country is by definition polytheistic. Instead of using worship, The biblical term is generally idolatry. God is God because of His attributes, He is everywhere (Omnipresent). He is all knowing (Omniscience). He is all powerful (Omnipotent). These are attributes that only "a god" can have. A Catholic believes that Mary can hear his prayer and at the same time hear the prayer of another Catholic a thousand miles away. If that is true, then Mary is omnipresent! He believes that Mary can discern the intent/need behind the repetitious prayer he recites. If that is true, then Mary is omniscient! He further believes that Mary has power to answer prayer as well as perform supernatural miracles. If this is true, then Mary is omnipotent! Now then, Mary is OMNIPOTENT, OMNISCIENCE, and OMNIPRESENT just like the Creator. Mary then, according to Roman Catholic teaching, is A GOD! You will be hard pressed to find a modern non-calvinist religion that is not polytheistic. |

I'm not sure how Bashing the Original Christian Church is in any way related to Stoning Adulterers and how stoning people is reprehensible. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Hi folks! Whilst the "Political" thread is slightly more permissive, as we can see... Please, keep on topic: try to focus this thread and posts to the "Political" point of view....it is getting too "Religious"....you know what I mean. Thanks for your cooperation. |

I thought the entire point of the thread was based upon a political-religious view... |

Gary I think the only flaw with that is the last bit, She can't be GOD as She's a Woman and in the few times I've seen anything painted about GOD He's only depicted as Male(Sistine Chapel), Not Female. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sistine_Chapel_ceiling#Nine_scenes_from_the_Book_of_Genesis Otherwise there'd be Female Priests(Officially Recognized that is). We should, perhaps, remember that the prophet Mohammed himself married a 6 year old girl and consummated that marriage when she was nine. Islam is, by the nature of it’s founder, profoundly misogynistic. But then, every religion is. Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas. Albert Einstein |
