How many computers/cores make a farm?

I think I'm winning with a garden (2 puters/4 cores).

I don't think it has ever been given a strict definition.........

I would go with anything more than 1 in my book........a lil' kitten kinda farm.

I think I'm winning with a garden (2 puters/4 cores).

I lost count a while back. I know I've got more than 40 acres of farm though...

But it's taking me a lot more systems than Mark to even make a showing... (Most of mine are AMD's anyways...)

Just checked and it looks like (counting Hyperthreads as Cores) I've got 84 cores going on. Yowsa! At least one of them is getting retired probably tomorrow though. It was only generating about 80 RAC anyways... :-)

21 hosts
---------------
36 AMD Cores
23 Intel Cores
21 Intel Hyperthreads

Well, if I am counting correctly, I am doing it all with 30 hot cores......LOL.

Things have changed so much in just a few years. When I started crunching I would have called 4 single core hosts a small farm and been really happy to have that.
Now you can have a quad core box and its just a computer, or a dual quad core box and its a really good computer.
