I couldn't even imagine how slow it would be in IE. I have disabled IE, So I would be able to find out. Gosh, and I thought it was slow with my DSL conection! Right now, I know I am going to eaither going to swicth to cable internet, or return my DSL modem, and stick with DSL, cause I don't think I can stand anymore 56k.

I'll have updated team stats up shortly.

I just got FireFox 1.0 for Mac OS. It screams "I'm a bad Mac port".
Sorry. I'll be sticking with Camino, though.

Yeah, your absollutly right. Firefox is not the best on the mac, because the foucused on making a good browser for indows and linux. But thats why mozilla released Camino.

Note: My DSL is acting up, so I havent been on in about 2 weeks, including BOINC

Hope your DSL install goes better than mine did. It turned out that I had by wires crossed at the drop, so not only was I hearing a third party's calls, but my DSL modem was picking up their traffic, too! :-P

FireFox is great on i86 Linux - I just saw my friend running it on Fedora 2! Nice job!

If I had Safari's UI, Camino's engine, and Konqueror's cookie controls... Oh, yeah! >:-)

Sounds like Conan the Technician double-punched you. I like keeping a buttset around so inevitably when Qwest screws up my lines (about once every two years), I can disconnect the house at the network interface, check lines, and tell them it has to be their fault.

The problem is that Verizon and Cablevision are at each other's throat around here. Niether one respects the other's lines. I wouldn't be amazed if I was litening in on a Cablevision VoIP "call".

Since I called in the repair request I haven't had any static on my line, and my downloads are a solid 192KB/s.

Yeah. There Deffinatly at each other's throat, verizon the phone co. Dug up my yard to put in some new fiberoptic lines, then cut Comcast cable, so then Comcast dug up my yard, now I think my phone lines nicked, because I'm not getting as good of a DSL signal as before, especialy when it rains. But Verizon wont come to take a look. Its been way to much trouble.

It's surprising how little can interfere even with a slow data connection. At my last job I had a location that had a persistent problem with bad links on the burg alarm main phone line. Also the line fault in the burg panel wouldn't detect if I just pulled the "tip" line open, so I'd have to pull both tip and ring at once to induce a fault. Took a while to notice but I finally found that the cross connect wire for the "tip" line was laying against another line's punch-down on the block. Not making metal to metal connection, just making contact with the insulation of the cross-connect wire. I moved the wire a few millimeters away, and the problems disappeared.
