All the more funny because our newest owner is an herbivore.

Before we met Cyndi (AKA Stinky) I decorated the house with plants. Now all the toxic ones are out of reach and in most cases out of sight, as not much is out of reach for a determined kitty. She even chews on the non-toxic plants and I have had to get them out of the way too. Stinky is the fourth cat who has adopted us, and she is our first plant-chewer!

Dry food is always available. Out cats get special wet food pretty much daily as well. I have a tub of cat grass out for them at all times. I keep saying "she is a kitten... she will grow out of it." Do they grow out of it?

Not really........

Once a kitten, always a kitten......

You might try 'bitter orange' on the plants.........is might dissuade kitty from chewing on then.........

Don't count on it. My old cats ate plants too, and even I had that kind of plants that should be good for kitties, some white-green ones, my old Fred ate so much of them that his liver values showed that he was being poisoned. So I got rid of all plants, all I had was plastic ones. Because he ate and threw up, ate and threw up, again and again, he couldn't stop, it was an obsession for him. His sister also ate plants, she went after the flowers in a vase instead, she ate numerous bunches of tulips, and then she knocked over the vase to get to the rest of the stems. Are you aware of how much area of the floor a pint of water contained in a vase can cover, when it has been knocked over? I know!

Yes, sadly I have first hand knowledge of this as well. Much as I love flowers, I've had to put vases up high and out of reach of Stinky - too high to properly enjoy the flowers. She is a naughty kitty, but we love her anyway.

We have the same problem. My wife loves roses, but we can not have them because the cats will eat them. As for Christmas trees forget it We have one that will climb it and knock it over. He will not leave them alone.

Catch the kitties using your mouse, or they will die :(

(Don't let a kitty fall to the ground, it makes a horrible mess!)

Emjoy!

No, that time is over where someone could please me with giving me a bunch of flowers, or I could buy one myself for my own pleasure. First, the cat will eat the flowers and the green and get sick and throw up, and second, I can mop up water from the table and the floor all the time. I have at times, when someone actually gave me a bunch of flowers because they wanted to please me and didn't know better, put the vase on the floor just to save myself for the trouble of cleaning the table for water. Or I have put a bunch of flowers on the top of my book shelf, so I only could see it from below. The last bunch of flowers I got was some very fine long-stemmed roses, I'll bet they have cost a fortune, and then I could enjoy watching them from below.

Flowers for me is really a waste of money, thanks to the little furry princess I live with!

30 years ago, I showed up at Lori's place with a vase of flowers....

Her BF at the time did not appreciate the gesture, and sent the vase whistling past my head at about 140mph to the wall in back of me......

It was such a pretty vase too......

Uhhh, msattler, I don't think my boyfriend would appreciate it either if some guy showed up at my place with a vase of flowers. Pretty vase or not. So, maybe you had misjudged the situation there? :-O

Well, my mistress, the furry princess, don't hurl vases with flowers, she just knocks them over. Of course she then can treat herself with a little drink of water, while it's lying there on the floor anyway, that's only a bonus for her. And the vase doesn't break, it's just knocked over.
