I am sitting here with my beloved Squirrel kitty on my chest..........

The old gal is showing her age as of late.........she looks a little more ragged that she used to.....her coat is not as smooth and shiny.......

But let me tell ya........when that kitty looks up at me with those big dark eyes, and purrs like there's no tomorrow........I know how much she loves me.

And somedays......let me tell ya........she is still all full of P&V.......playing her chase games and letting her sisters know that she is the ruler of the roost.........

I shall be badly hurt when she has to leave me........I hope I am not wrong, and it will be a few more years........

She really isn't that old. She should be around for a couple more years anyway.

Well......I truly hope so........

Her littermate Tigger passed at 5-1/2 years from CRF........
And she is a barnyard kitty........not like some of the breeds like Siamese that have been known to live for almost 20 years.......

But the old gal is just sooooooooooo happy to sit here on the couch next to me.....and soaks up every little bit of attention I can give her......

I guess I don't look as pretty as I used to either.........

Good night Mark.

Gotta eat some late dinner........then off to snooze with my beloveds..........

Tomorrow is another day, so they say.

May I pass heaven's gate an hour before the devil knows I have gone..........

And I truly wish that I may see my beloved Tigger waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.........

I really enjoyed reading your Kitty musings Mark. It reminded me of a cat (Billy) we used to have with us each Christmas (His owner drove down to Norfolk, England and left him with us). He got spoiled rotten when he was with us and after the first year he would arrive and settle down on his blanket on his comfy chair and just lap up all the attention. We had him with us every year, for 10 years, and I remember spending many pleasant Winter evenings with him on my lap, the two of us watching TV together. He used to purr like a buzz-saw. I am afraid that he could wrap me around his little finger/claw.
Unfortunately he died a few years ago and Christmas just isn't the same without our little visitor - now you've got me maudlin as well. So time to call it a day and head for bed.

Sweet dreams

Tom

Well Tom....
The best cure for that would be to adopt a new kitty friend or two.....you already know how special they can be....

Glad you enjoyed my ramblings.

Best Regards,
Mark

Once again I ponder......while I sit back and think
'bout things and 'bout kitties and 'bout how life's gone in a wink.
Some chose to stay here, and some chose to go.....
And why some have left us willingly we never shall know.

I chose the hard route....to stick it through 'till the end
which has been chosen for me by my God.....I don't know when it shall end.
May be tomorrow, may be today.....
But as long as he blesses me with my life I shall stay.

He has given so much to me to have and to hold....
and it's a wonderful thing that I can behold
a bit of joy in my life, though fleeting at times.
He gave me this life for to hold here as mine.

I know sometimes my thoughts which I express to you here
are occasionally disjointed and some of you fear
that I might go from this earth at an earlier time
than what He has deemed would be the right place and time.

It shall not be so......for I am stronger than that.....
I have my life, more that one love, and I am saved by my cats.
Whatever my demons, I am stronger than that.....
And so ev'ry night when I lay down I do pray.....

For my Lori and Uli, and Richard and Charcoal........
And so many others that I can't always remember them all....
I pray for souls living, and some of them lost....
And I ask God to give them his forgiveness of course.

It's been a long journey...me and this Seti-bound quest.
If you've been here awhile you are aware of the rest......
I have stumbled and fallen and got back up again
and continue the journey just as best as I can.

Sometimes I post things that I later regret.....
and most of my friends here will forgive and forget.
But a few hold their grudges, and I really cannot blame them
when I repeat the mistakes again and again and again then.

If you will try, so shall I, and I'll pick myself up once again
and try not to repeat the mistakes that I've made all to often, and then
maybe some day I'll break out of the rut...
For I know I am able to get help if I must....

I pause now for kitty love........she is here by my side......
and will try here to swallow my last bit of pride
and continue my journey through life as I know it
and try to give others a seed.......may I sow it?

I love you all dearly, for without you I'm lost.......
The way that I've lived my life has had such a cost.
I'll not let the devil pay it because
I know there is better waiting just up above.

I've carried on here enough for tonight and must sleep...
As usual I shall pray that my soul the Lord He shall keep.

I shall sleep now with the kitties........they are my love and my keep...
and hope that my sleep shall be long and deep....

And the kitties that romp all night long in my dreams
shall be with you too.
For you all need to know that I love you all true.

May your lives be long,
your troubles be few,
and our friendship be forever............

It's very cold here tonight, so Chucky has settled himself down for the evening in front of the radiator. Not stupid are they?

(Sorry about the poor picture, I took this on the mobile (cell to you Americans!) & emailed it to myself for convenience!)

When it gets cold or a little cooler than normal in the house our kitties climb on the bed and huddle together.

My kitties are very lucky there.....even when the programmable thermostat turns things down for the day while I am at work...they always have the nice warm waterbed to cozy up on.

Mine have a heated cat bed which I leave plugged in and switched on, but they only sleep it in when I'm not looking! :D

Question is, How does one keep the water in and the claws out of a waterbed? Kitty or not.

use a thick mattress pad, and at least a bottom and a top sheet with a blanket and comforter. We had a waterbed for years and have since gotten a Sleep number bed. much more comfortable. we have had it for about 5 years and we love it.

Waterbeds are out here as the floor isn't concrete, As I was told that's what's required for them.

I had a water bed upstairs on a wooden floor at the last house. Always expected it to come crashing through the floor into the living room, but was told it would be fine and it was.
