When I go around to donate to my local animal shelter, I buy a few bags of kitty food off them and then I give the food back to them as a donation... so they get the food and the money!

Sorry that I can't help your local shelter Mark, I'll compensate by giving double my usual donation of food to mine...

Breaks your heart to see a kitty alone and abandoned at a shelter... 3 is all I can handle...

He is still there as of today. Don't tempt me, I might figure out, who much it would cost to fly him to California. He is my type of kitty, an independent spirit.

About two months ago, we took in, four 'stray' kittens....its a long story, but its probably fair to say that someone had moved and their female cat had been left behind and it had kittens. You can imagine our surprise when we got a visit from an RSPCA inspector, regarding four kittens seen in our back garden - we didn't have four kittens, we had six cats! The kittens were rounded up, but the mother shot off - we regularly put food out for her and see her in the garden. I suppose that means we're feeding 11!

When I go shopping, I regularly buy extra food, to place in the boxes for the various shelters - that food includes the good quality dry food like Iams, Purina and Hills. I'd love to donate to your local shelter (as I would S@H), but its very difficult for me ro make 'credit card' payments, due to a miserable excuse for a Homo Sapien, who effectively left me holding their debts!

I ask for help for my kitties, but never put anybody down because they are unwilling or unable to help........

Stories like yours and Luke's leave me with hope that there are some of us who care.......

As I have stated.......I would do more if I only could......and sometimes I actually exceed what I can afford to help the kitties......
It's an emotional thing for me.
But I would rather see them with than worry about me without.

Hi Mark, I would love to donate to your kitties as well but my wife and I are still trying to get out from under the debit racked up by our move up here. We are making some progress but not much. We donate to pet rescue orgs. whenever we can. As you know all our cats were rescues except one.

The kitties are wandering......and I'm not sure just why,,,,,,,
Must be a 'kitty thing' and I surely will try
to keep up with them as they wander about
and once in a while raise my own little shout.

'Bout the way that life is, as only I can forsee it,
My sad little bits about life as only I know it.
You can not understand, and I would not expect ya to,
for you have not been through all the things I've been through.

So I bare you my soul, and my troubles and trials
And ask that you bear with me for just a short while.
The time that it takes to read my sorry li'l post
And think about things that I hold here so close.

The kitties have found some grand things in their travels.......
'Bout this life and it's meaning and whatever it's trials.

Someone who can't trust evry word that you do see.

Lottery!? Who Said Lottery? New Zealand's National Lottery got to an outstanding (not much compared for you guys in America) NZ$25 million (roughly US$13 million) ,the biggest jackpot it's ever reached. No win for me though :(

As I sit here and ponder about what my life has all meant
and wonder about this journey upon which God he has sent
And the lives that I touch each and every day he's given
me to spend as I wish, no matter where I am driven.

He's blessed me with so much, I am ashamed to admit
that I've been a fool and wasted so damn much of it.
But still he has offered his hand unto mine
so while I can cry, I also can shine.

There is only so much I can put into words
to share with you all some of what I have learned.
So I offer to you sometimes now and again
My little views on life and what it all means.

My tears come more often the older I get

the fact that my life, so little it be
I can share with you here, and call the thing 'we'.

For even as I grow older each day of my life,
I go back in my mind to an earlier time.
To things that I should and I should not have done.
But peace comes in admitting what you have done wrong.

My friends here are many, my enemies few
and thankfully I think I can call my friends 'you'.

Well....it's official......my friend and yours John Galt 007 has offered the use of his pickup truck this coming Saturday to help haul a kitty food stash to my kitty friends at the Fox Valley Human Association shelter. Not only that, but he has promised to help me with the purchase as well, so I think we shall be taking something like 600 pounds or more of kitty kibble for the kitties to crunch on for a while.
Thank you so much John for your offer of help.....that would not fit so well in my '92 Olds Cutlass.....LOL.
