Thanks JD, I always worry about the animals in situations like that. Some of the images from Katrina are still on the forefront of my mind and most likely always will.

Very glad this Kitty is ok.

Oh, hey, sorry guys. My little dog Frank got up on the keyboard again. He will be severely punished.

Oddly enough, a cat would probably wipe him out in a scrap--he's only about 9.5 lbs. Maybe that's why he barks at them . . . he is probably overcompensating.

Some good news for our four-footed friends in northern Wisconsin........
From WBAY news......

Fire Department Equipped to Help Pets in Fires

Updated: Sep 26, 2008 04:35 PM

Green Bay-area pets can breathe a sigh of relief that the Green Bay Fire Department now has equipment that could one day save their lives.

The Brown County Veterinary Hospital delivered pet respiratory equipment to local emergency responders.

Each animal respirator has small, medium, and large masks to treat smoke inhalation in pets the size of a small kitten or a Great Dane.

"About 40,000 pets die each year as a result of fires, so this is something that's really important in the community. Pets are important for a lot of people, often like a family member," Lieutenant Nick Craig of the GBFD said.

The respirators will be carried in ambulances serving the Green Bay area.

Each respirator costs $120. Donations from local residents and pet owners covered the cost.
