Darn, I just realized: while I was away I passed 100 000 Seti credit.

Oh, well, hold off the celebration for when I hit 1 000 000. :P

Way to go Geoff and BroncoBob.
That first million really does feel good. I'm working on my first million on ABC and Cosmo right now. Want that million on all my projects.

Just went past 2,000,000 today, now to start working on 3,000,000

I need to get some money saved up so I can build a quad-core.

Msattler has done it - for many months now, he has achieved the fastest per-core WU analysis speeds.

This is not a trivial accomplishment. Hyperthreading won't help, more cores won't help, faster networking doesn't help, tricky BOINC compiles don't help. I'm talking about the raw power of one processor core working on a WU. Over and over.

I've compared lots of top computers here. I've tried to beat him on a per-core basis. My best computer running perfectly is still 10% slower per core per WU in an apples-to-apples comparison.

Near-future processors look like they will not beat this per-core speed. Technology is leaning towards more cores or more threads per die, so the msattler raw core power record might stand for a long time.

Congratulations to msattler who has found that bleeding edge.
