Message 803958 - Posted: 1 Sep 2008, 11:14:18 UTC

I re-created this thread since #XIV got too large for the dial-upers. Everyone is welcome to this thread and welcome to post. All I ask is that you follow the guidelines I have set for this thread, we need to keep the dial-upers in mind. Enjoy.... :)

SETI/BOINC MILESTONE THREAD GUIDELINES:

    01. You must be a current, active participant in the science of this project to post milestone messages.
    02. This thread is for announcements of milestones for any BOINC project.
    03. This thread will allow helping new users only if related to SETI/BOINC.
    04. This thread will not allow milestones not related to SETI/BOINC or other BOINC projects.
    05. This thread will not allow flaming any other users. [See this thread.]
    06. This thread will not allow any profanity.
    07. This thread will not allow 'stretching': no imbedded images. While quoting a post with a very long broken URL in it, fix it if you know BBCode, otherwise delete it or place spaces in it to break it up so it will wrap properly. While making a post, with a long URL, use a small link name. Or, another option is to use http://tinyurl.com/ to create a new "tiny" link. If you must include an image in your post, create a link to it, no thumbnails. Stats images are allowed in signatures only .

HINTS FOR DIALUP USERS:

You can update your preferences in your account. Edit your "Forum preferences":

    01. Set "Show images as links". This will also create a link for images in signatures, but will not hide avatars.
    02. Set "Hide avatar images". All you will see is the username and stats.
    03. Set "Hide signatures". Some signatures have useful information, links to related sites and such and witty quotes. If you set #1 above, you will still see the information, but any images would be loaded as a link. If you set this, there will be no signatures displayed.

This new thread replaces: XIV, [XIII], [XII], [XI], [X], [IX], [VIII], [VII], [VI], [V], [IV], [III], [II], [I], [Beta].

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
Much has happened.........

Hit the 17 Million mark for all Seti credits.........

The Frozen Penny is currently holding the #9 spot in top computers with a RAC of 8,225.....(it's down a bit right now, tried getting some new work, and is spending about 8-1/2 minutes each on a bunch of shorties).....fastest 4 core on the project.........

Holding the number 30 spot in top participants with a RAC of 42,357......

The farm has been crunching steady and stable, and the weather finally cooled off enough that I was able to shut off the AC and am cooling with only outside air coming in.......I hope the electric bill takes a sigh of relief.......

Currently #5 cruncher for SETI.USA.........

Currently #41 of all users on Seti according to Boincstats.......

OH........and the kitties and I are glad to be back........LOL.

Slowly accumulating. I last posted at the 100K Seti mark back in December.

Just passed 50K for CPDN at the beginning of August and now 100K for Einstein today.
Where ever you go, there you are !

Quick Milesstone:

My oldest rig, the Celery, which has been with me since the start has reached 10,000! I'm gonna' start the throttle down process on it soon, as it now produces a sorta' 'plastic wire smell'

Keep on Crunching.
