New Inspiron 530 Q6600 in office - on loading BOINC, BOINC only "sees" two processors - only runs on two of the four processors. I checked the preferences, which allows BOINC to run on all four processors, but still, BOINC only is running on two of the four processors. I contacted Dell support, and the agent had no suggestions. Any ideas?

What does CPU-Z say about the computer?

Make sure that the computer recognizes all the processors.

Pulling up the task manager and looking at the performance tab is a quick way to see what Windows says it sees. I'm pretty sure the default is one graph per CPU.

I'm not sure if the Dell BIOS will show the information, but possibly see if all four cores show up there (I know my Asus motherboard says 2 physical, 4 logical...twin duals). If Windows only sees 2 cores, then it's likely a BIOS issue. Depending on how new the Inspiron is, there might be a BIOS update for it that fixes the issue.
