Just punched in my vitals to the plastic world so my money would be transferred through their magic to Cal for SETI- 3 day

Amount is modest, but the thought is there.

And two of our machines are chugging along.

BTW my Mac-pro laptop eats about 39-41 watts and power factor almost .99 while the Mac-pro tower with two dual cpus is around 230 watts, and only marginally faster than the lap top for each processor.

Machine has 8 gigs of memory and I took out the original sticks as it only added a few percent while eating a lot of energy.

Good thing that we own shares in the local power company!!!

Blurf,

Great work!!! I've only been crunching for less than a year and I've donated all my computer's free time to S.E.T.I. @ HOME. I'm retired now and on a fixed income, I wish my monetary donation could be more. However, I pledge that if my STEELERS win the SUPER BOWL, I will donate another $50.00. And also, if my PENGUINS take the STANLEY CUP, I will contribute another $50.00.
I also give you permission to call in these markers if (rather when) we clinch either or both trophies. Anyone else out there care to bet on their favorite teams in this fashion, after all it is for a very 'HUMANITARIAN CAUSE'?

Very cool...Thank You! Go ahead and post it in the 3-day donation thread please. By the way, we beat you in Toronto the other night-Super Bowl ain't happening for you(snicker)

Ok, let's see what we can do for the project today.

We've seen a lot of difficulties lately where it's definitely possible that the addition of a staff member could've helped get the servers back up with less of a delay.

I have put up $25 in a check that will be mailed tomorrow.

If you are willing to match my donation, please post your name here on and list the amount if you wish.

**Here is a link to the Donation Methods Page **

If you do not wish or unable to that is absolutely fine-there will be no criticism of non-donors in this Challenge thread.

This thread is not meant to spotlight anyone unless they wish to participate.

It will be locked Sunday night 8/17 when I go to bed about 10-11pm EST.

Thank you for your interest and support to the program.

Just to bring this back to the top and give you an update. To my best estimate,
so far over $4,000 has been contributed or pledged.

There are more of these to be had. Come get yours please.

Nice work, Blurf. You have done well.

And nice work to all of my fellow crunchers and donators............You have impressed the heck out of all of us.

I see a lot more green stars on the boards here lately.

And the kitties dance.
