See this post, which references a post by Dr. Eric. Seems like everyone is going to take a hit...

The upside is: if 710 credits for an AP unit is too low, the same mechanism that is lowering Multibeam will also raise Astropulse.

At least you're not using a PS3 to do AP. When I run my PS3 for PS3grid, I get about 3400 credits for around 23 hours of work. I'm told the AP units are pretty much set at 710-ish credits, and on the PS3 will take about 155 hours or so (based on what I've seen so far). So, 155 hours for Seti Astropulse => ~720 credits or 155 hours for PS3Grid => ~22,900 credits... Now that's a reduction!

I am running a battery of somewhat dated duo core E4400 and E4500 machines. They have it where it counts and are performing well, for their age.

All of my machines run 24/7/365, and as such i guess they were prime targets for the new Astropulse project, because they all picked up a package.

The machines handled it on about an average time of 54 hours, which is about in line with what i would expect having read other posts on the matter. In this period i have seen my RAC drop from its normal static position of around 4500 to the 3900 range.

Now i know it is shallow, and simplistic of me, and i really should be "bigger than this", but i dont like receiving a reduction in "pay" just because my machines work around the clock for you guys. It is petty and trivial, but i do like coming home and looking at the number 2 slot on my team every day and seeing my name there.

I really think a soultion needs to be worked out so that users who have stable enough connections are not penalized in their RAC by virtue of participation in the Astropulse program.

I dont mind doing the work, and honestly i would continue to do it, even if there were no listed comparable credit anywhere.

As long as we are going to play the RAC game, lets play it with one set of rules for everyone.
