Is there any way to turn astropulse off on just one machine? I'd like to keep it on one machine but remove it from the second.

I'm not well versed beyond the "load it and let it run" level so if it is possible I'll need simple directions.

Put the computers in different locations, Home,School or Work, and set Seti preferences in each location differently.
e.g. Home MB only
School AP only
Work AP and MB.

Yes, just set that computer as a different Location, and set the SETI@home preferences
at that location to not include AP.

I have a question regarding running the latest Astropulse Linux X86 when using the App Info.xml file when running the SETI@Home optimized version. I upgraded to the Linux X86 4.36 version and left the 4.35 graphics file the same (even though I never look at the graphics). I updated the AppInfo file so that BOINC could find the new main astropulse 4.36 file which I did download to the S@H work folder and this is what my appInfo HAD looked like:

But my question is did I do something wrong? I ask this because my task IDonly ran for one second, and then in Boinc Manager in the message box said that it could not find the output file, and then returned a computation error.

I backed everything up before I changed so I have reverted back now, so any ideas what I have done wrong or what should I do at this point, if anything?

Astropulse is not allowing my screen to go blank after one minute of no keyboard activity. The other seti program and einstein programs do not have this problem. I have to manually halt astropulse when I am away from the pc here and only restart it when I am doing other things on the pc and the screen is on anyway. Could someone determine why astropulse is not allowing my screen to cut off as it should? When I halt astropulse the screen cutoff works perfectly.

Hmmm... workunits individually don't have the ability to prevent screen savers from kicking off, and the code to detect activity is separate from the science apps. It would have to be a flaw within that code which happens to coincide with the AP apps running on your machine.

Every Multibeam unit that still appears in my Tasks list is either pending or was granted credit within the last 24 hours. I completed some of them days ago, but they were validated by a wingman only within the last day.

Check it out, you'll see that your list is the same.

The oldest unit that's still on my list is a Multibeam unit that I completed on September 17th. The only reason it's still there is because it hasn't validated yet - it was a 'ghost unit' on my wingman's machine and had to be sent out to a third computer. I may have to wait until the end of the month to see credit for that one.

You are absolutely right. That is what I just observed on my lists. Multibeam and Astropulse are both acting the same on the lists. Either this is new, or I failed to realize it in the past.

It became more obvious since I switched all my hosts to 100% Astropulse. 4-days of results takes one-half a screen.

As you can imagine, it is a thrill to see the occasional validation of a completed unit. Concurrence amongst peers after smashing and mashing a WU for so long, well, it is surprising it works at all! Cool.

MultiBeam workunits are removed after a day as well (after being granted, of course). All Pending Credit workunits remain until a quorum has been met.

Not sure this WU is an error. Nothing but the time that was left on it when I last looked at it compared to the time it finished in, along with the credit claimed makes me think there might be a problem with this one. No message in the log other than the WU completing that I can see. Is this a normal type credit claim?
