Yes Arizona... your not wrong... ;)

Its actually my sunday afternoon cut and paste session while it was raining so hard outside... I made it from three separate images, The stars background was taken with my camera from the back lawn one night about a fortnight ago, the moon is a view through the telescope. Its a "composite" image.

You did a good job enzed.

Nice image Ian, you must have a good telephoto lens on your camera. You got the timing right as it is not overexposed and blury.

Have you tried to capture Mt Taranaki with the moon shining on it at night time..?
It would be interesting to see if you could get the snow reflection and also stars in the background.

Snap and look at the result, adjust as needed - gotta love the digital.
I dont have a DSLR yet, just a Sony H7, but it's 15x optical and has full manual control for focus, exposure and aperture.

I have some night time shots from my old film SLR of the Mt at night, one even picked up a faint shooting star. I'll post some more when I get home.

A couple of old night time shots.

The streak at the top right is actually a meteor, faint but it's there.

This next one is taken from approx the same place as the first shot, but it was taken by moonlight only. The night was so bright and clear (and COLD) that the picture has even come out in colour.

The meteor shot is great, the mountain and the satrs at the same time. Thats incredible how the moon provided enough light to create colour in the last shot. It shows how clear the air is to be able to do that.

Hi Ianab
Is that what it looks like around there it is quite beautiful. What is in the foreground of the meteor shot it looks like a bush and a cow?
The moonlight shot is all very good it looks Vincent Van Gogh - ish like in the field pattern. Did you try to burn in the image? It might make a better shot the best shot. Give it a try and you might like the results.
Bye Paul
PS
By the way you got some good work at your website.

Mike, those birds make some good noises. I had a neighbour who had some and they would tweet and carry on for hours.
