The correct filename is "app_info.xml". You did not tell which optimized seti@home application you want to use, and if you want to use an optimized AstroPulse application as well. Here is a modified version of the app_info.xml that tullio just posted for x86_64 including stock AstroPulse v4.36 combined with v4.35 graphics (graphics is still missing for v4.36 x86_64): <app_info> <app> <name>setiathome_enhanced</name> </app> <file_info> <name>AK_V8_linux64_sse3</name> <executable/> </file_info> <app_version> <app_name>setiathome_enhanced</app_name> <version_num>528</version_num> <file_ref> <file_name>AK_V8_linux64_sse3</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> </app_version> <app_version> <app_name>setiathome_enhanced</app_name> <version_num>603</version_num> <file_ref> <file_name>AK_V8_linux64_sse3</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> </app_version> <app> <name>astropulse</name> </app> <file_info> <name>astropulse_4.36_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</name> <executable/> </file_info> <file_info> <name>ap_graphics_4.35_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</name> <executable/> </file_info> <app_version> <app_name>astropulse</app_name> <version_num>436</version_num> <file_ref> <file_name>astropulse_4.36_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> <file_ref> <file_name>ap_graphics_4.35_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</file_name> <open_name>graphics_app</open_name> </file_ref> </app_version> </app_info> _\|/_ U r s |

Finished my third AP WU using app. 4.36 on a Linux box with Opteron 1210 CPU at 1.8 GHz. CPU time was 114.8 hours and credits 753.16, giving 6.56 credits/h. Tullio |

I think that is exactly I used and then I got this Task ID, and In my BOINC message box said that if could not find the 'output file,' whatever that is. But I'll copy and paste your code and download the main astropulse 4.36 file again, and I imagine I keep the same 4.35 graphics file, even if I don't look at it? *************************************** -Steve |

Make sure the downloaded file has the correct size and don't forget to set/check execution rights for the astopulse_4.36_x86_64 and ap_graphics_4.35_x86_64 application files. _\|/_ U r s |

Oh Ok, thanks for reminding me, I should have known that that, but I abused to check. I just found the permissions as rw-, but now I have changed them to rwe. Thanks a lot for your help! *************************************** -Steve |

Just installed 4.35 Opp app (not running any other). Cannot see anynomous platform. Boinc & astropulse running. Is the above correct? Evidently not. What processes do you see running in Task Manager? Where did you put the (unpacked) optimisation files? Are they still there? |

Cannot see anynomous platform. Boinc & astropulse running. Is the above correct? Astropulse_4.36_Windows Intelx86 (Using 49% cpu) C:\Boinc\Projects\seti Yes Host |

Astropulse_4.36_Windows Intelx86 (Using 49% cpu) Stock app C:\Boinc\Projects\seti Should be at least ..\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu Yes Thank goodness for that. Host Most recent task 1021165657. Stock multibeam - no optimisation there either. At least with BOINC v5.10.45 you don't have to look for a hidden BOINC Data folder. I think it's the folder. You need the one with lots of 367KB multibeam data files, and one or more 8196KB astropulse data files, with names that match the task names you see in Task Manager. Then you need to make sure that your editor hasn't put a hidden double file extension on the control file: app_info.xml.txt After that, if it's still not working, ask again. |

Astropulse_4.36_Windows Intelx86 (Using 49% cpu) Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't there be an app_info.xml file? All files on show on rig even hidden ones. |

Astropulse_4.36_Windows Intelx86 (Using 49% cpu) Without an app_info.xml there is nothing to tell your system not to run Stock. The app_info.xml file needs to include references to both MB and AP if you want to run both Optimised. F. |

My result do not seem to be appearing is there some kind of built in delay because I know I have processed more than what seems to be appearing in my results, has anyone else experienced any difficulties with AP? |

What is the difference between AP 4.36 x64 downloaded by boinc client and 4.35 from here? Which one is optimised to run using SSE? Currently 4.36x64 runs on my Quad Phenom for ~90h @750 credits. Will 4.35 run ~30h? |

Will 4.35 run ~30h? Neither one is optimized - those are the standard applications. My Phenom Windows machine runs them in ~29 hours with SSE3 optimized application (versus ~98 hours non-optimized). I don't know if anyone has an optimized Astropulse application for Linux. Will 4.35 run ~30h? As Leaps-from-Shadows pointed out, neither one are optimized. The only difference between AP v4.35 and v4.36 is that the latter one fixed a graphics bug for displaying the screen saver. Since the optimized apps don't currently make use of the graphics, there is no need to include those changes, so v4.35 works just as well. |

Yes, My wu's have dropped since AP takes so long as compared to the classic Seti downloads. Also, the graphics are sometimes messed up. |

Additional Software Radar Blanking ... Did you receive the stock v5 application here on main already? "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. And unlike most advice, it's backed up by proofs." -- Algorithms to live by: The computer science of human decisions. |
