On my Q9450 running in tandem with AK-V8 SSSE3x, the one AP WU that I have crunched so far took just about 3x the initial estimate to complete and it then took the machine about an hour to get back out of EDF mode for the Enhanced WU's.

Both of my machines have now gotten AP work, the iMac has yet to get to the unit as I keep a 4 day cache on it but should start crunching it sometime today.

Mine both say 10:57:58(HH:MM:SS), If I had the water cooling I need I would think that time would go down as I could then crank up the speed some around here on My Q9300. :)

I just started crunching the AP unit and so far the time remaining is going steadily up.

Back in June, the Frozen Penny did some Beta work with AP4.33, took a little over 20 hours IIRC.

The Q9300 here is overclocked and is at 3.29GHz at the moment, But We shall See I guess.

I have one AP unit running on a AMD 9850 (4 processor running at 2.5G).
The time to complete started at 39 hours. After running 27 hours the total time now be over 70 hours.
Just how big is this file?

Going from the performance of other AMD cpu's during testing before release here, 70 hrs would seem about right.

It now reports it is 48$ done, 45 hours.
Time to complete is 36 hours.
This is on a machine that is NOT 24/7. At this rate it will not complete by the due date.

Took 80 hours on my lap-top C2D running at 100%. Not wise to hold your breath waiting ;)

What are the minimum requirements for my computer to run Astropulse?
* Minimum CPU: 1.6 GHz
* Minimum RAM: 256 MB
* Minimum disk space: 128 MB

Do these requirements seem a bit low? They do to me. Based on this minimum CPU, how long would an AP WU take to run completely?

I finally got an Astropulse WU today, too.
The time estimate is slightly bothering me, though. It started at 25 hours and is currently 33 hours. I hope it will drop again when crunching actually begins, otherwise my machine might not ask for more work.

BTW, does BOINC ask for more work when it has a single workunit with a 24+ hours when cache is set to only 0.5 days (12 hours) on a dual core processor?

I am running the S@H Enhanced 5.28 (Mac PPC). Been chugging along now for a few days with a fresh install. If I have not seen any AP units show up, is it safe to assume my Mac is determined to be too slow? As I understand it, if we are running the stock seti app (as I am), it would automatically give us the AP app and units if we could run them. We only have to do those installs ourselves if running an optimized app, correct?

Bummer! Was thinking, as I have been churning through Seti units at around 3 hours lately that even if those AP units took 30 times longer I'd still be way under the 30 day window. Alas, will keep running the old ones til a new Mac shows up.

Well... That's the way that it's supposed to work. But from posts in other threads here, it appears that the system might be trying to download AP WU's to "unsuitable" hosts, so you might strike lucky :)

See this thread by Dotsch. He compiled Astropulse for the Mac. Have at it, if you like...

40 hours on Q6600. The result is valid and awaiting for my wingmate somewher in the future - he is running some kind of laptop as his stats shows T2050 at 1.6 GHz. The good thing is that he is running stock apps and will probably return a valid result too.
