Fly higher... catch the jet stream...
I've got the cooker fired up...
The lobsters are starting to scream.

Wow... you can really make food boy! ;-)

Coconut milk based curries are some of my favorites,
be careful for the Thai chilies... they can make your
face turn red and your whole head to sweat. ;-)

ArizonaMoon...just so you won't think me too anti-social, I'll say hello to you and all who post here on CafeSeti. Not much to say today, but my home area just went through several days of no electricity due to remnants of hurricane "Ike". Although we are hundreds of miles inland from the U.S. gulf coast, the Cincinnati area was hit last Sunday with several hours of Tropical Storm force winds gusting up to 84 mph. Over 1 million people lost power, and 4 days later, a few hundred thousand are still waiting for repairs. My neighborhood only lost power for 12 hours, and lost the internet for 2 days. Most area businesses, including my agency were shut down for at least 2 days. Several co-workers, however, only had power restored as late as yesterday morning. So, I am back to work, back on line, and Seti@home is running once again. Best wishes to all! Mark A B

Mark!! Yeyyy.. This is more than i could even imagine would happen.. ;-))

Great to see you in the Coconut-place! Welcome to you!

What you tell though, is mostly sad.. Im sorry that you and all the other people over there has to go through this. Still its good to hear that some
is sorted out.. and we just have to wish that the repairs and tidying goes
rather quick. Best of luck to each and one of you.

Have you taken those photos yourself...from your neighbourhood? I guess it is.. Its great to
get some real photos from the area.. not only those picked from news-sites.. So thank you very much for posting ;-)) I would be happy for some new photos when
things are mainly back to normal around you.

Thanks again for showing up Mark. Do it again ;-)

All of the previous photos were taken by people in their own neighborhoods, I could not get access to these places due to roads being blocked and power lines down. My neighborhood did not sustain much damage, thus our electricity being off for only 12 hours. As far as I have heard, there were 3-4 fatalities reported from falling trees in the early hours of the storm, but considering the force of the winds, it could have been much worse. We did have one tree split about 10 feet from my bedroom window, but fortunately it fell away from me and power lines.(see below)
