On one of my machines I now have 3 wu's which simply refuse to upload, while others are downloading and uploading fine on that same machine.

The error in the log (taken from boincview, actually) says that it can't resolve the hostname. But flushing dns, rebooting the machine etc. has no effect.

Host Project Date Message
arthur --- 4-7-2008 0:58:01 Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
arthur SETI@home 4-7-2008 0:58:01 [file_xfer] Temporarily failed upload of 01mr08ah.5684.7434.12.8.68_0_0: can't resolve hostname
arthur SETI@home 4-7-2008 0:58:01 Backing off 1 hr 5 min 59 sec on upload of file 01mr08ah.5684.7434.12.8.68_0_0
arthur --- 4-7-2008 0:58:03 Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down.

Anybody any idea what might be going on and what I should do to avoid this in the future? Strange thing is that my other machine has no problem uploading at all, and that most wu's on this machine upload just fine. Only 1 or 2 wu's per day show this strange 'problem'.

Regards,
John.

I have the same thing - some of my machines "talk" fine to the project. Others have almost a day
worth of work to report.

Was checking my host's, saw that 1 Q6600 @ 3100MHz., had 25 ready to upload WU's and the log stated, WU's with error's!
Have turned down the OC to 2900MHz., since i don't know, what caused the error's. Eventhough the LOG stated WU's with an error and turning BOINC off/on is an option.
It uses the SSSE3x optimized AK_V8_SSSE3x and BOINC 6.1.0. x86.
Adding: The uploaded fine, after using the first button in the 'PROJECT' menu.
Have them in Dutch and forgot, how they're called in English, ;^) .

Having trouble uploading some computers. No errors are shown. Are the servers being over loaded?

One computer uploads about 5 units and within a minute I try to upload another computer and the comments "Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down. Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server".

This according to the messages in the BOINC Manager has been going on for a few hours.

Well all my machines finished an upload/download. I did have to quit BOINC and restart them.
Now if I could just solve my coolin/OC problems on my 9450 box....

One of my rigs was in that state yesterday....a reboot of the computer fixed it....might have something to do with the recent server/dns changes. See if that works for you....
