Message 771422 - Posted: 21 Jun 2008, 17:00:49 UTC - in response to Message 771419.

Got some of that Melatonin stuff to try next week.......

Let me know how it works for you. You'll sleep like a baby.

I seem to recall that I tried it many years ago.....and it worked well.

I'll give ya an update next week......

Melatonin is good stuff. It's often used to get sleep cycles back in line by those who travel a lot. For some reason, it did not work well for me. My witch doctor offered to prescribe medication, but the new stuff has some pretty weird side effects. I found I really like an over-the-counter supplement called SleepMD. It has the Melatonin, but also has calming herbs like valerian root. It's more expensive than the melatonin, but I found it worked much better and didn''t leave me fuzzy like the other over the counter stuff.

Keep it up! A tip of the good stuff to you. Since it's Saturday, make it two tips..... Oh, what the hell......

Hmm...valerian......not likely to be available at my local Piggly Wiggly.....I was actually surprised that they had the Melatonin......I bought the one and only bottle they had on the shelf...LOL.

If it does not work out well, I have heard about Valerian root......
Recently, I have found that not sleeping at all works well whilst combined with copious doses of whiskey.....

Valerian Root...works well for a short period. Best way to take it is to be laid in a cup of water and made into a tea.

Problem is it tastes like old sweat socks

Almost 14 days -- Keep up the good work Mark!
Please don't over do the Jack/whiskey.

I use the 3mg Melatonin for those occasional nights where I must get a good night's sleep (7-8 hrs) and so long as I get at least 7hrs solid sleep I have no side effects such as grogginess.

How's it going Mark?

I think it's better not to remind him of cigs twice a day. I'm sure he knows that we're there for him.

Unless he feels differently.

Oh, I don't mind at all.........it still is not an easy thing to ignore, and the difficulty sleeping is a bother.
Gonna give the Melatonin a try this week, see if that helps the sleeping problem...other than that, it's still a day by day thing, so feel free to keep checking in on me!!

3MG...It was the only thing readily available, and I think what was suggested earlier...

That's the one that I use. Three (MG) is good. Be forewarned..... Probably shouldn't drink on them. My bottle doesn't have an alcohol warning, but they will knock you for a loop.

Don't generally imbibe during the work week.....that's when I need the help getting a decent night's sleep.
