Hi Heinz, Hi Jason, it's ready now, you can get it... in this case it is better the two big fans are off... but no problem till now, FB-DIMM's are toasters... regards heinz ;-) |

Hi Heinz, Heinz, are you sure those fb-dimm's are not getting too hot? I don't know the specs for those things, but if my ddr2 (non-buffered) were to get that hot I would be sure to worry :-) Regards, John. |

Good day all, personally I would be concerned about those temps. I also run a Skulltrail system (Dual-5440's)with 8GB FD-Dimm's. These are the temps that I am looking at for both the CPU's and Memory- From HWmonitor ----------------------------------------------------- Intel Xeon E5450 hardware monitor Temperature sensor 0 62°C (143°F) [0x2B] (core #0) Temperature sensor 1 60°C (139°F) [0x2D] (core #1) Temperature sensor 2 57°C (134°F) [0x30] (core #2) Temperature sensor 3 57°C (134°F) [0x30] (core #3) Hardware monitor ----------------------------------------------------- Intel Xeon E5450 hardware monitor Temperature sensor 0 58°C (136°F) [0x2F] (core #0) Temperature sensor 1 59°C (138°F) [0x2E] (core #1) Temperature sensor 2 56°C (132°F) [0x31] (core #2) Temperature sensor 3 49°C (120°F) [0x38] (core #3) Hardware monitor ----------------------------------------------------- FB-DIMM hardware monitor Temperature sensor 0 62°C (143°F) [0x7C] (core) Hardware monitor ----------------------------------------------------- FB-DIMM hardware monitor Temperature sensor 0 60°C (139°F) [0x77] (core) FB-DIMM hardware monitor Temperature sensor 0 63°C (144°F) [0x7D] (core) FB-DIMM hardware monitor Temperature sensor 0 57°C (133°F) [0x71] (core) All my systems run at full duty cycle 24/7 in my small office so the ambient temp is warmer than I would like it. This particular system is currently ranked 2nd for overall work :) Top Hosts Host ID ![]() |

Hi Todd, thanks for informations. How can I call the hardwaremonitor, where is this program ? perhaps you can use Everest to post your FB-DIMM values (100% full load) here. thanks heinz |

Hi Todd, Hardware monitor can be gotten from the following url http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php This program works great-it is from the same folks that offer CPU-Z. A few of the gems of the hardware world that are free to use. I noticed that they were running in the high 70's (C) until I installed this small and very quiet fan. It was nice that my motherboard came with bracket for the Northbridge and I just used that. I also have a Bonetrail system (Intel X48)that included the same bracket so I was able to use one also on my NB. What motherboard are you using? Hope this helps you :) - Todd |

Are you sure that your RAM is running with stock/normal voltage (because of the high temps)? ![]() |

I did not changed anythind of this till now, bought it, set it into the slots, updated the BIOS, used it. hmmm... 15 _heinz 8,535.28 380,237 number 15 today... |

Wow! Those temps are off the charts-way too hot to be running stable. What brand of RAM and spec's do you have? And what is the voltage that you have the RAM set at in the BIOS? Normally the RAM is configured for 1.8 (RAM) & 1.5 (AMB) FB-DIMM's run hot but not but that is going to melt them down into a blob of goo. Drop me a note at win95gui@hotmail.com for faster response. :) Todd |

This values are shown, if I look up in the BIOS. Till the first day(19th of June) the machine runs with this values under 100% full load...till now I had have no problem. But the temps shown from the different programs are very high. The question is: Can we trust this programs ? My Intern FB-DIMM Sensor(mounted between the two DIMMS in the middle where the AMB is) shows 68 Celsius. heinz |

Sad to hear of your loss.. Maybe you will come again back with your rig(s), or it was only a burn-in test? ![]() |

The V8-Xeon has now the max windows-performance-index of 5,9 see leistungsindex Temps under full load of "Einstein" are moderate see v8_hwmonitor If seti has work again we will compare temps against einstein my first einstein-wu need CPU time 35804.75 ...a lot of time for Granted credit 193.41 heinz |

The V8-Xeon has now the max windows-performance-index of 5,9 Einstein just implemented a ~28% credit drop for their new S5R4 run. For S5R3, that WU would have granted ~237.xx credits. Pity the poor Power-app users (i.e. me!) who actually got hit with about a 55% credit drop. |

The V8-Xeon has now the max windows-performance-index of 5,9 Nice to see you again! Hope you feel well (better now).. I guess the AK v8.0 app for SETI@home use the CPU more than the Einstein-app. So because of this the CPU/s is/are hotter. I don't know, use the Einstein-app also the SSSE3 extension? ![]() |
