... perhaps under Server2008 as virtual machine...
Yep, if there simply aren't any drivers, and you really really want to run NT4. If there are NT4 drivers available (highly unlikely) you'd probably need to do the F6 - floppy disk raid driver rigmarole, so on the odd occasion you'd want to use NT4 for software testing or somesuch, then a VM would be easier anyway IMO.

You are right, I will do so.
Must todo some experiments with this "Intel Matrix Raid".
The board has on its backside two extern SATA-connector supported by Mavell-Raid-Controller. I dont use it. It is shown in the BIOS, says no disk found..it is correct, there are no disks.
So I will install the "Intel Matrix Raid" as RAID5 to have security.
Then I get with 3 disks 2/3 of the whole disk capacity = 2 Terra, thats ok.
Did you already install a Matrix Raid ?
Any specials of the gurus are welcome.
thanks heinz

20:00 hour, temperatur 22 Celsius, humidity = 100%,
FB-DIMM = 60 Celsius
CPU's max=68 min=54 allways on all cores 100% full load
All values I have given are at this manner..full load 100%
------------------------------------------------------------

Played a bit with the Acronis Disk Director to try out and find my opt variants of partitions-values for the different task I want todo. Very nice tool, you can do all this the machine runs Vista and is crunching..
And all without a new start.. cool.

Hi all,
humidty=100%
Sure I had open the windows(both instruments showed 100%), now closed the windows and maked the photo.
We have a weather here in the Rin-valley, warm, rainy, 100m from here behind the railway are the swamp/marsh with the ponds. Evening you can see the dust over the marsh meadows. And if its rainy, then outside is 100% humidity. And if the sun is shining it goes a little back, but mostly not under 80%. You can see the water-steam in the air. And here are a lot of mosquitos.. you can believe me. Today I have heared the anopheles mosquitos are back again..really not a good sign.
Hoping to have a nice night without thunderstorms.

Regards heinz

0:15 hour
temp = 20 Celsius, humidity = 100% rain stops now
FB-DIMM = 58
CPU max = 64, min = 49

it's really 100% humidity (photo new)

from mai 19th to June 5th ( 17 days )
V8-SK01 Avg Credit = 5,335.42 Total Credit = 110,213 without pending credits
Pending credit: 11,981.05

For 17 days I get so much how I get from my P4 Northwood 2.66GHz in a year !
This is a real progress. So I must think about it to switch off the P4 for crunching, it costs too much energy/credit in comparison to the SKT.

06 of June, high noon, light sunny, but very cloudy
temperature = 25,8(digital) humidity = 82% (analog)
FB-DIMM = 63
CPU's min = 55, max = 68 Celsius
--------------------------------------------------------
Thought about the Raid, found practical solution, will get it a try today.

13:55 hour
Next thunderstorm is alredy to hear and comming.
Looks like I must shutdown again in the next 10 minutes
It starts to rain already...its raining bubbles...its raining cats and dogs...
So humidity is increasing up the next time..
What a beginning of the summer, everyday thunderstorms here.

heinz.....you need to invest in a good UPS system for that rig......
Of course with the power consumption involved, it would have to be a pretty good sized one.....LOL.

See the rainbubbles...

OK, so that does indeed look like 100% humidity!

It's cloudy but just nicely warm up here further up north.

Happy swimming!
:-p

@ Heinz

Oberrhein ;-)

7th June 8:30
temp = 21, humidity 89%
FB-DIMM = 66 Celsius
CPU's min = 61, max 70 Celsius
see humidity in France
see forecast Strasbourg
It was a silent night, still light rain...
--------------------------------------------
the machine is crunching 24/7 so far without any problems.
we will look up into the statistik after a month.. on June 19th
Then we can see how it performs.
