16k goes by.... and top 1000 in NZ...
Gonna' crunch 24/7 to see if I can get a 500 RAC and achieve 20,000 on/before my birthday (12th June)....

Congrats on everyone else s milestones...

I doubt you will have any problems, your dual core is way faster than my Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6420 @ 2.13GHz and it's RAC is 2017. 24/7 you should be there in a couple days.

Although my Dual-core is a laptop... should I watch it crunch a full 24 hours? just to be sure it won't overheat?

I have 3 laptops that run 24/7. 2 Toshibas and a HP, been going for more than a year. One is down right now but that is due to a stupid kid not Seti.

I see you have optimized the lappy...
There are no completed results for me to check....I assume you have the AK V8 on the Celery as well?

Thats what everyone says.... lol... (You forgot my blue lightsaber, btw ;)

There are a "few" of completed tasks for my dual-core lappie at the back of the tasks list.... each one takes round 3000 seconds....

My two rigs are running:
Luke-PC (Lappie) AK V8 SSE3 - takes 3000 seconds
System (pathetic desktop) AK V8 SSE2 - takes anywhere from 12,000 to 24,000 seconds

Just checking Luke........yeah, Celeries are a bit pathetic in most cases, I was running Seti on Lori's Dell Celery until she decided she just didn't want it running 24/7 using the juice.....it was a doggy too, little loss.
But if you have the new app on it, at least you are probably doing 40-50 percent better than without......

Now turn off that lightsaber, willya? You're scaring the kitties......LOL.

lol... even my kitties are scared by my lightsaber.....

On-topic: It's a useless old 2001 desktop computer, the only point I still run it now with my laptop is that it's my only rig running XP and that it dedicated my first thousand SETI credits, really proud of that moment....
Once I get my dual-quad/Nehalem built, I'll retire the poor thing, put it outta' its misery....

Also, any chance you'll be upgrading or building some new rigs in the next year or so?

Best Regards,
Luke.

No 'new' rigs.....I am cash strapped right now, so I am limited to upgrading what I have.....I just aquired a Q9450...just a lovely piece of 45nm silicon.....it took off like a dream on my P5K Deluxe......
Will be taking the Q6600 I replaced and using it to upgrade one of my duos...

The new generation will require new mobos, new RAM, etc.......

Plus....the kitties and I are rather proud to have what I consider the 'hottest 8 rig farm in Setibinness'.........

Oooh yea..... That's one record you hold, Mark..... OCing beyond recognition....

The Nehalem rig I'll be building will be my first actual computer build, Luckily, I already have an basic knowledge of the components and how to put them together, I'll need guidance from someone though.... and the right components while not going crazily over-budget....
All in good time I suppose....

So many multi-millionaires.

Fantastic to see it. Congrats to you all.

200K for S@h achieved today for me. 250K for BOINC combined fast approaching.

I just reached 1,000,000 BOINC SETI@Home credits :)

This feels like my first real milestone coming from a Classic user with over 10,000 units.

I have been wondering...does "SETI@home member since 14 Nov 2002" mean the date I registered with BOINC or does this go back to SETI@Home Classic?

Computers who have contributed ;)

Current machine:
Total credit: 531,586
GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6]

Mom's:
Total credit: 305,049
GenuineIntel Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz [x86 Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 1]

My retired machine (last contact Feb 2007):
Total credit: 147,242
GenuineIntel Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz [x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9] [fpu tsc sse sse2 mmx]

Many thanks are due to the various iterations of the optimized SETI science app: Crunch3r's, Chickens@Lunatics, and Alex Kan's.

Team Yale has taken the #1 spot from Clemson Univ (long time #1 and featured on the front page previously...) in the University rankings. We're 2k RAC over them and that will continue to grow!
