Depending on what instruction sets your P4 supported (SSE2 or SSE3), then the Chicken 2.4V optimised client would be the one. Sorry no. The new optimized client is still finninshed also for SSE2 and it is much faster. I´m surprised you still dont know what to do. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

You just volunteered him for more work :D I have no idea what I optimised this (my main PC) with. Rush helped me do it. Mark just pointed me at the one to optimise my itty bitty laptop with. I may treat my itty bitty laptop to some new memory near pay day as I got a 10% off voucher when I bought some for my P4. Reality Internet Personality |

So, Esme has her guide from you as to where to get the AKV8 SSE2 port for the fastest optimised client on her rig. That is if she is not already running this client! It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Good morning chat fellows Only on Intel Boards from my understanding on AMD it just clips onto a ring built in to the mobo. Yes it is very HEAVY and LARGE as it won't fit in many cases. I have done considerable research on it all. I was teasing about you buying all the towers BTW. I think that UK DOT is back at it again as my RAC is in the decline again... MY Pending has skyrocketed though sitting just under 4k. Maybe if my wingman will get on the ball I can see some increase, well that and need to confine those DOT people and send them back over the "pond" back to their native land and get them off my back. LOL |

Depending on what instruction sets your P4 supported (SSE2 or SSE3), then the Chicken 2.4V optimised client would be the one. If that is the case, and Esme is running the Lunatics 2.4V SSE2 now, then John's SSE2 version of the AK code would be of interest to Esme, when this is released to the wild. Knowing Esme, she will already be looking here for the potential improvement over the 2.4V client and when it is released. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Good morning chat fellows No! Not down to me. I bought mine about 3 months ago, and I think the good weather last week was the reason. If you do go down this cooler route then the tower is fixed to the CPU (after thermal paste, etc) by 4 through bolts to the MoBo. Heavy object otherwise. Good morning chat fellows I'm guessing you bought them out they have no Tuniq towers and no ETA as to when they'll have more... |

Depending on what instruction sets your P4 supported (SSE2 or SSE3), then the Chicken 2.4V optimised client would be the one. ATM the coders are working on an SSE2 version of the AK Mac client port. The beta testing is reporting it to be as fast as the SSE3, SSSE3 and SSE4 versions (all found at the same lunatics site). I expect the optimised client you are running is already the right choice. Winning while crunching on one lowly computer which a very slowly climbing RAC. LOL..it is optimised! I optimised it a couple of weeks ago and doubled the memory. It's the original P4 I have always crunched on for seti. I've unhidden it now so you can have a look. I only hid it because certain people were watching my crunching habits and making up conspiracies about it. Reality Internet Personality |

Good morning chat fellows For Andy - one place for non-standard components is Overclockers UK. That is where I purchased my 2 Tuniq Tower air coolers for my Quads Good morning Mike and Esme. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

If I recall correctly, Tiger Direct does ship internationally.....they are usually just a tick more expensive than Newegg, but not much usually..... You could check them out, but I don't know if shipping costs and any taxes or import duties would negate any cost savings there......... "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow." I was running one of them at 2.5G and the others at 2.4G on Asrock Nf6p mobos (I was wrong with Asus earlier). We don't have NewEgg here for cheap components. :( Generally speaking everything costs double in the UK what it does in the US so a decision to change coolers is an expensive one. Having seen the machines run 100% stable without any overclocking and the RACs still climbing I am tempted to leave well alone at standard speed for now and just see what happens - the overall power consumption is lower too this way. If the machines were in a stable air conditioned environment I am sure things would be very different, but due to lack of space at home they are living in the garage at the moment. |

My temp has maxed at 45 and I actually got to see it at one point as cold as 17C it was idle and the ambient temp was FREEZING cold I had my window open so my Sempron which is overheating badly wouldn't shutdown. Sempys always run hot as heck when OCd.......although I never quite managed to actually toast one.....they all hung in there....... "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow."
