There is nothing funky with my machine (1 of 20)... it is on the same domain and has the same internet connection etc.

This started a week ago and I have re-installed and tried repeatedly to get it downloading.

First, if you still can, delete the email address from your post, it is an invitation to spammers.

Second, a quota of 2 is an indication that there is a serious problem with your machine. The typical problems are overheating, overclocking, and bad RAM.

When was the last time you chased the dust bunnies out of the system?

Have you overclocked your machine? If so, could you try backing off?

have you run RAM diagnostics recently?

If it's this one then there is something funky with that machine as it is only returning errors: Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)

No..The base machine is not running BOINC.

That is used to develop custom software with, and as much of my time is taken up with writing specs and test unit code, the base machine is basically doing nothing for most of it's life, only when the compiler kicks in, is it busy at all..

I reset the VM so that BOINC sees it as a new computer, now it's downloading tasks like it's supposed to...and crunching away happily.....

If the base machine is also running BOINC, you are only going to hurt your throughput by using the VM in addition. There are penalties every time that tasks that use a large fraction of the L1 and L2 caches switch. One task per CPU is a good idea for CPU intensive tasks.

Ah .. ok .. that clears up my confusion ..

This specific computer is actually a virtual machine running on a Vista DuelCore Laptop that was created only for running Boinc and nothing else.

The OS is using only 167 Mb RAM and no other applications are running.

Disk space is using 10.5 Mb out of allocated 1 GB to BIONC.

I will monitor and see what else I can do to correct this

I agree. So things to try:

1. Check in Task Manager what is taking up all of your memory. With less than 512MB available, Windows XP is possibly already stressed out. Try loading less eye-candy and cut down on the amount of programs you have running at once.

2. Reboot the computer, see if that clears up some.

3. Increase your page file.

4. Increase your amount of RAM.

I was given the tasks AT 9 Apr 2008 14:46:18 UTC
and they were given a deadline of 9 Apr 2008 14:50:10 UTC

There are a lot of tasks with just a few minutes between the deadline and the allocation time...

This is definitely not the doing of my computers... how do I get rid of this..??

Sorry, but that is NOT the deadline that you are quoting (9 Apr 2008 14:50:10 UTC) but the time that your computer returned the invalid result. If you look at the detail of the result you returned it contains:

A few days ago when there was errors on the servers, I had about 30 tasks fail to report or was just marked as not processed by the server...

My tasks are all normally processed in around 6 hours...

I will make my computers visible..

The normal quota is 100/CPU day. If your quota is significantly below this, you have a problem with your computer as it is either returning junk, or returning late. Since your computers are hidden, I cannot tell what.

The quota is reduced by one for each task that is either returned late, or returned with an error. If it is returned on time with no errors, the quota doubles to the maximum of 100.

Hi

I have 3 machines running Boinc and work ONLY on the Seti@home project.

Recently I have noticed that my workunits downloaded decreases in quantity,....and currently stands at 1 workunit per day.

Whenever i do an update or request more work units, it tells me i have reached my limit of 1 work unit per day.

There is no such limits set up in my prefrenances.

If anyone has an idea where i can start searching for the problem, please help me.
