WOW! Darn, all these good task times makes me ticked I cant install the software remotely. For some reason my firewall wont let me connect even though I managed to do it yesterday. Looks like the upgrade will have to wait a few hours :(

First WUs were crunched. Before: about 7700 sec After: about 3900 sec same AR on stock Q6600 (non OC) Installation on different cpu Types: Stop Service Copy in Folder Start Service no WU losts. Worked ok with SSE3, SSSE3X and SSE4.1 (But one Celeron (with SSE3) the estimated time went backwards so I switched it back to 2.4)

First WUs were crunched. Remember that the estimated time is based on the history of your machine. I would let it crunch a few WU's with the new App before giving up on it; it might surprise you... F.

One thing's for certain - there's going to be a whole lot more tasks "Out in the field" on the Status Page. I have returned only 2 tasks crunched completely with the new App and am crunching 4 more and my machine just can't stop downloading extra work!! F.

Here too... and I have only 4 days of cache now (about 80 WUs with 2.4V SSSE3, and now I have 93 and increasing...) WOW!!!! P.D.:If you want take stats from a stock machine, now is the moment...! I have returned only 2 tasks crunched completely with the new App and am crunching 4 more and my machine just can't stop downloading extra work!! Thanks for the offer, Logan. But I think I am all "stat'd" out at the moment. Have to do fee-earning work for the next couple of days and it really is time I got round to trying to update my "Vac" code. I have spent quite a bit of time over the past few weeks trying to keep everyone informed about the progress being made in the developments and, hopefully, helping the developers a little in determining which "tweaks" gave most benefit. But I don't really see much mileage in collecting stats of new Apps vs "old" Apps. Now that I have an SSE4.1 chip up and running, I will test both the new SSE4.1 and SSSE3x Apps on it to put my own mind at rest as my earlier testing suggested little difference in performance. F.

Only if you wanted was a compilation. I suppose that has been very hard work during these days ... Relax, and you know that I think you have done a great job! Best regards. Logan. I'm pretty impressed with the first results! I was expecting something but not SUCH a decrease in time. My T9300 went from roughly 5880 sec to 3420 sec with AK_v8.0_Win32_SSE4.1 which shows ~40% of decrease! Thanks for all the work you guys put in! |

Thank you to all who made it possible this new apps!! I see between V5.15 Rev. 2.4V SSE3 and the new SSSEx (both 32 bit) ~ 40 % more speed at my QX6700.. BTW. The QX6700 need now ~ 5 to 10 W more.. And the CPU is ~ 1 - 2 °C hotter.. and sometimes for short time (it depend at which WU-progress) 1 - 2 °C hotter additional.. (so complete 2 - 4 °C hotter) OC to now stable..

The AK port is great. Downloaded the 32 bit versions for my X2 3800 & 4200. Slight hiccup with the 3800. It wouldn't d/l any wu's. Quick reset & it's working great. X4 9500 has already completed 2 wu's a lot faster than stock. Thanks Guys |

For the first time ever, I did a WU under 10,000 seconds! LOL This on my P4 2.8GHz w/HT POS Dell. LOL Very nice work with getting the port to windows guys. And thank you for being able to release it. Jeremy

Just in a quick look on my Dell, I am seeing 2200 to 2400 seconds faster performance. Same here. Dropped from 5500 seconds to 3300 seconds, give or take a couple of hundred seconds, which equates to a huge increase in speed. Thanks to everyone involved. Oh and the shorties completing in under 900 seconds - NICE

Not sure if AK V8 caused this... It is a OCed machine? There are some users whom have the same problem 'oceing' to the max level... I'm running without OC and don't have any problem. Try to decrease a little bit your OC level... Best regards. Logan. BOINC FAQ Service (Ahora, también disponible en Español/Now available in Spanish) |

Not sure if AK V8 caused this... Hi Logan. No, none of my rigs are O/C'ed. Since resetting, it's been okay & reported in several wu's. Will keep an eye on it though. On a side note, have installed AK V8 on my single core 3700 & the temp has dropped 2.5 degrees. Nice. |
