Hi. I'm no expert on the Enhanced Applications, but I thought that P4s running Windows XP, had to use SSE2 versions of the application. The PC that is returning the errors is running an SSE3 app - apparently while the CPU may support SSE3, Windows does not, or something like that. One of my P4s is running an Enhanced App for Windows with SSE2 support, and that was the application recommended for that CPU and OS. As I said, I'm not an expert, but I've come across postings about ensuring you get the right application, or you'll get a whole bundle of trouble. Go on, be a Devil, stick some more RAM in it, too! Thanks, hadn't noticed I had thought I upgraded all my machines before I left. That one must have been busy at the time. I guess I will have to have Logmein installed so I can do that. Maybe that will help, but the one running doesn't look like chicken, it must be stock as the only optimised apps I have ever used was the chickens. Maybe the computer is dying, just don't know from here. Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound! ![]() |

Hmmm, After the detatch and retatch I got one validate error and 2 are pending but one has strange message in the Work unit... I've seen this happen on a machine i recently put online. The no heartbeat came up when the computer clock got out of line after the automatic sychronization of the internet time server. I had the wrong time zone entered and when the time was adjusted from what I had set the workunits stalled and gave the no heartbeat message. At any rate after restarting they finished crunching and got credit. ![]() ![]() |

Well I was able to get Logmein installed and installed the SSE2 Vapp and will watch it. If it still errors out I guess I will have to shut her down untill I get home... Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound! ![]() |

Hi. I'm no expert on the Enhanced Applications, but I thought that P4s running Windows XP, had to use SSE2 versions of the application. Willamette and Northwood P4s don't have SSE3, Prescott P4s do. Windows XP is not designed to report anything past SSE2, but if the CPU supports SSE3 then the SSE3 version of the optimized app is the right one to use. Joe |

Well it now looks like changing to the SSE2 Vapp did the trick. Will still upgrade this machine but now it is getting credit. Thanks to those that helped. Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound! ![]() |
