Last night I played a blank tape at full blast. The mime next door went nuts.

Thoughts of the day... hmmmm...

in psycology its said that nothing is real, other than our own perseption of
the happenings.. If this is so, how can we ever relate to another human being, without being connected by wires that gives us the same perseption? What is possible to agree about, if the reality doesnt exist outside our own head.. ?

On the periodic table, why do some elements have symbols with letters that aren't even in the word?

I believe they make sense if you know Latin.

Make sure you don't confuse Potassium with "Pt" :o)

A man was invited for dinner at a friend's house. Every time the host needed something, he preceded his request to his wife by calling her "My Love", "Darling", "Sweetheart", etc., etc.

His friend looked at him and said, "That's really nice after all of these years you've been married to keep saying those little pet names."

The host said, "Well, honestly, I've forgotten her name."

If you shoot a mime, should you use a silencer?

Happens to me sometimes.

Here's one that I heard yesterday and it is sooooo true at times.

No good deed goes unpunished.

Thanks to all for keeping this thread going. I love some of the thoughts :D

Klingon Programmer saying No. 7:

"Klingon function calls do not have 'parameters' - they have 'arguments' and they ALWAYS WIN THEM."

Thoughts come from the head, and thinking is an activity which ought to be modelled by computer programs, and also by the construction of actual physical models, probably computers. Failing that, many distributed computers could model alternate thoughts of the day, with an aim to at least make one thought for each day.

This thought involved no computers, other than it's transmission from my head to your computer ;)

I was thinking about String Theory's many worlds hypothesis and wondering if the multiverse can only be created upon observation. In which case there would need to be conscious entities in the universe before we could have parallel universes created at each decision nexus...of course if there couldn't be parallel worlds without consciousness then that really messes with the probabilities of something like the Earth coming into existence in the first place.

Anyway..that is what i was thinking about while i did the dishes.

When I did the dishes I was thinking about whether the universe will collapse in the same way as the rollers on my dishwasher trays and instead of breaking some plates, cause havoc and chaos in political systems throughout the thinking universe and cause politicians to actually think.

That's what I was thinking when loading up my dishwasher earlier....

. . . Einstein when asked how World War III would be fought,

Einstein replied that he didn't know.

But he knew how World War IV would be fought: With sticks and stones!
