Hi,
I recently installed Linux on my PC (as double boot) and I installed Boinc as well. Now I want to use Linux more than Windows, but I still have plenty of WU's in the Windows version of Boinc.
How do I transfer these to the Linux version? Can somebody help me with that?
Thanks

Looks like your Q6600 appears in SETI as two different computers. I'm not sure you can, but if so it means abandoning the work under Linux, at least temporarily, while you finish the Windows work.

If you do nothing, BOINC will recover from this. You might set "no new work" and suspend the other work units, then let Windows run long enough to finish that last WU.

Sorry, but I am 99,5% sure it will fail. Set the option Do not Fetch work and let Your windows finish its queue, then detatch it and restart using Linux.

Best of luck

Thanks guys,
I have thought about the same answer myself but I was hoping there would be another possibility.
Something has changed however. I will not stop using the Windows version, but stop the just started Linux version. Why? Very simpel.
When I look at both computers on the Boinc website, I see that the Linux version has about 2/3 of calculation capacity the Windows version has. How much I hate it, I have to admit that Windows XP-64 is faster than Linux Fedora Core 8, also 64 bit. People (Linux fans probably) always say Linux is faster than Windows, but not in this case.
So I will start Linux again for tonight and finish all the WU's I have there and then detach it.

Thanks again.

Interesting observation. Not often we have such a direct comparison between stock Windows 5.27 application and stock Linux 5.28 application on the same hardware, and with a nice even supply of consistent ARs too.

~10,000+ seconds for Windows: ~15,000+ seconds for Linux. Someone might want to look into that one.
