I am not certain that would work. I believe the current server code attempts to match the newly attached host up with the old host...

Hmmm...

Generally speaking, I try to avoid testing that kind of functionality. :-)

My understanding was now on a detach you shouldn't loose your current HID, but all work and project executables onboard are dumped and the project marks everything it has listed for it as 'Client Detached', then queues it up for resending to other hosts. If resends are enabled, the project would try to match it up and resend it to the original host.

LOL

Thanks for your input, I'll just ignore the ghost files and let them expire. If you want to resend the items is fine with me...:)

LOL...

Wouldn't a detach get rid of the 'ghosts' on the project side?

So that would be good for your wingmen at the expense of everything else you did have onboard. That's why I said my vote would be to just let them expire on their own.

If I was stuck with almost all ghosts, then I'd probably implement the 'cure'. ;-)

<edit> Hmmm....

Apparently something changed with the forum software today, since the OP string of task numbers is over-running the pane on FF 2.0.0.12.

They disabled they resend functionality about a month ago due to database performance issues.

So the infamous 'ghost' task is back with us again for now.

Unfortunately, the only 'cure' for it now can be as bad as the disease depending on your POV and circumstances, so the best course of action is probably just ignore them.

There's a cure???

There is an occasional problem where the server sends a response to the client that includes task info and the response gets lost in transit somehow. Now the server believes that the client has been issued the work, and the client has no knowledge of this.

Everybody occasionally has this problem with "Ghost tasks". There is nothing you can do on your side with most projects. With some projects you can re-connect and get the tasks sent again. I am not certain whether S@H does this or not.
